Rio reminds Chris Christie of NJ.
The governor, speaking on a morning sports radio show, trashed the Brazilian city hosting this year's Olympics, calling Rio de Janeiro a "garage dump" amid reports the city's waterways are contaminated with raw human sewage teeming with dangerous viruses and bacteria.

A large rodent chewing grass on a golf course is still a million times more entertaining than golf itself.
Still 1000x more entertaining than baseball, which is the preferred sport of the elderly.
It sounds like the golfers will only have the potential to come into contact with any of that wildlife if they end up in a water hazard or in the rough. I would hope that olympic level golfers aren't likely to end up in either.
Yeah, pro golfers end up in the water and rough just like amateurs. That's why those hazards exist.

Also there is a BIG difference between a PGA tour golfer and some "Olympian" from a third world country.. I really want to see a monkey run across the green and snag someones ball.

Whatever, old timer.
the average age of a professional golfer looks like it's right around 35 years old.
MLB on the other hand...
The 2012 group's average age was 26.8

I was referring the fan bases. Of course baseball players are young, nobody with any wisdom would use steroids.

I kind of called this.

Look who has higher standards than the IOC.
The International Paralympic Committee's blanket ban on Russia is in sharp contrast to the earlier decision by the IOC to allow individual sports to decide whether Russians could compete in the Olympics.

Good thing we banned the doping Russians.
Efimova refused to speak to reporters after her semifinal swim.

King only found out on Saturday that Efimova would be competing. The Russian had been banned after being linked with a World Anti-Doping Agency report into systematic government-backed doping in Russian sport. International swimming chiefs have still offered no explanation as to why she was reinstated.
Yep, integrity of the games, right there. The Olympics are less legit than baseball.

Russian swimmer is a complete bitch and cunt.
After winning her Olympic silver, Efimova hit back at her critics, saying that all athletes should be above politics.

“I understand the people who didn’t congratulate me because the media was full of fake stories about me,” said Efimova, apparently referring to the snub by King and Meili after the final.

“But on the other hand, I don’t really understand the foreign competitors. All athletes should be above politics, but they just watch TV and believe everything they read. I always thought the Cold War was long in the past. Why start it again by using sport?”
So, fuck you. Before you were a cheater. Now you're a cheater and dumb as shit. You don't understand why your peers are pissed you've gotten away with juicing and are still somehow allowed to compete and win second place? Just fuck you. And above politics? Holy christ on a fucking crutch, your country has made sports, especially the Olympics, political since the end of WWII. I hope you cash in on your body before it shrivels away around 40-45 due to negative steroid and hormone effects, and you're forced to give handjobs outside the airport for travel sized bottles of vodka from tourists. Anyhow, while the Russians are allowed to bring their cheater to the table to play, the Dutch kick people out for drinking.
Hendriks admitted the departure of the former world champion and triple European champion on the rings was "a bloodletting" for the Dutch team.
But, he stressed, "our athletes are role models."
I hate bullshit like that last line.

When a woman told Trautwig via Twitter he should call them Simone's "parents," Trautwig tweeted back, "They may be mom and dad but they are NOT her parents."

Biles' coach Aimee Boorman complained on Twitter: “@AlTrautwig actually they are her parents.”

Trautwig deleted his tweet and apologized in an NBC statement: "I regret that I wasn’t more clear in my wording on the air... To set the record straight, Ron and Nellie are Simone’s parents."
Wait, what? You regret you weren't more clear when you said something that turned out to be 100% counter to reality? Why can't you just man the fuck up and say "I was wrong"?

I hate that wrong-not-wrong bullshit.
