I've always streamed, for a good 2 years now I've done it weeks at a time for MUCH more popular/higher interest games such as League of Legends and Counter-Strike Global Offensive. So, I do wish you luck guys as always, but the sad truth that I'm breaking to you now is??????
You'll really just be streaming to watch yourself later on. . . Near impossible to get even just one viewer, for anymore than 2 minutes.
Probably tough to get an audience when you switch games every five minutes. :D

And don't be a Negative Nancy Trooper. Sometimes it's not about the games, but about the people playing them. Besides, as Wayne Gretzky said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Is there a definitive MW wiki or something? I got the "Advance Target Decay" module for 6mil and it doesn't seem to work very well. Supposed to keep your target lock for 3 seconds after you would otherwise lose it, but I still get 1-second locks.

MWO Wiki

Although, I think either the official forums or the NGNG forums would be a better resource. In fact, I'd recommend just asking the question in one of those forums specifically to save yourself some googling time.

Yeah, I didn't feel that had much info, especially regarding the question I asked. That page says what it is, but not how it works or how best to deploy it. I will look at the other link you provided.

I am quitting tonight at 20 quals. Will probably stop trying hard at 25... Stranger was right, don't really care about the little statue and camo. And definitely have better success in solo queue. 5 wins should be easy tomorrow.

I only streamed CS:GO and League though, so I really didn't do much switching like you're thinking. And Negative Nancy? No. I was just letting you know how difficult it is, being that there are millions of millions of channels out there, hundreds of thousands that are streaming the same thing you are, hundreds who are pros containing 90% of the viewers. The only viewers you'll ever get, are people you tell by word of mouth basically, so friends and family. Nobody will ever randomly stumble upon your channel, ever. The odds are stacked HIGHLY against that happening.

Good luck though, its cool to hear other people are getting into the steaming business. Despite how much you all laughed when you heard I was streaming way back when!!! I seem to recall a lot of "Scooty is streaming?. . . . Why? Whats the point?" heheheheheh. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm :p

I was teasing you about how often you switch games that you play, not ones you streamed.

IF we do it, it'll be because we just feel like it, and it's not some attempt to find fame or fortune. We're just goofing around.
I do want to again point out that we're the same elo as other folks streaming now. It's not like we're bronze players in LoL trying to stream.

Again, it was more about your commitment to whatever games were being played. Plus, the standard teasing. :D

Was a bad weekend for me, was in bed by 9-10 o'clock both Friday and Saturday so needless to say I didn't get many games in. I did play some sunday afternoon, but I probably won't get my 25 games in, oh well..

And as far a streaming. I'm sorry Trooper, but you were a small fish in a very big pond when you were streaming LOL and CS. Those games have well established big name streamers that get 90% of the viewers and the other 10% is spread out among literally 100s of other people at the same time. MWO has a much smaller viewing audience and streaming community by comparison. If you go to the MWO page on Twitch there are maybe 100 people watching total and maybe 3-8 people streaming at any given moment. Obviously this goes up and down, but compared to huge games like LOL and CS, MWO would be much easier to get viewed by people looking to watch MWO. Leisher would be a small fish in a small pond.

And if he happens to want to stream, now is the best time to start. MWO will be on Steam within a few months and the huge influx of players would give the game a big boost. Along with a head start on many other would be streamers who will start playing the game at that time. Personally I have no interest in streaming because I don't play enough, and I just wouldn't want to.

I say if Leisher wants to he should go for it, regardless of what Trooper thinks. His experience in doing it will most likely be different than Leisher's.. Plus all the techno music and choppy framerate that Trooper was streaming prolly turned most people off. :p

When a person streams on twitch, can you hear that person's buddies in voice chat with him?

Well, that's my point.... I would only caffeine up like on Friday nights when I can sleep in. Caffeine at 10pm has me bouncing off the walls until 4am.

Have you watched Andy Dalton's stream? (Not his real name...Stranger, what is it?)

Anyway, he's mostly silent throughout and he has a bunch of viewers. The guy has zero personality. I think people watch because of his team more than him. They're very chatty during games.

IF we did this, it wouldn't be every time, and I'd let you know so you could be on your best behavior. Although, lets be honest, cranky, self depreciating, and ripping each other/folks in game would probably be far more entertaining.

When I watched Andy Dalton's stream the first time we were on it, he and his teammates were bitching about people on their team (us) because of a maneuver they disagreed with. (A move that is now VERY common in CW matches I might add.) They did nothing in game to lead the team, they just whined. Meanwhile, Stranger, some random, and I were the only folks guarding the B gate while those morons were telling everyone to shift to A. Guess who stopped an invasion force from having free run of our base? Guess who played peek a boo with the distraction force? Andy Dalton finished with the most kills, but I was #2 in kills, damage, match score, etc. and Andy Dalton drives clan mechs. Fuck Andy Dalton.

Anyway, the point is that of what I saw he and his group were just douchebags and I didn't hear them giving any tips. IF we did this I don't have any delusion that folks would watch us because we're awesome at the game. However, we do have good tips and whatnot. Stranger can talk builds. You can preach locking targets. I can discuss positioning. Etc.

We'll see. I'm not 100% sold on this, and haven't really done anything towards it yet.

Back to the actual game, Gordo and I got the Raven over the weekend. Stranger you should try and power your way through it tonight. I think it runs through Tuesday morning? If so, do it solo, it's much easier.

I probably won't be on tonight. I should be on most other nights this week though (9-10 depending on my children's stall tactics).

On a different note, the bug has been reported Gordo.

If we're both on Tuesday, let's try a Unit Group instead and see if the issue disappears.

Do those warhorns work in any mech? I heard someone say something about only clan mechs.

I'm pretty sure you can put any warhorn in any mech.

Here's a sample of all the warhorn sounds.

The innersphere comstar sounds like the horn of Gondor, pretty cool!

I have no idea on the war horns. I wish you could personalize them. :D

Just posted this to the MWO forums about the Raven challenge:
It is awesome that PGI throws events at us most weekends along with free premium time, mechs, mech bays, etc.

However, I agree wholeheartedly that this is the worst of the "challenges". It creates really selfish play and discourages teamwork in a game based on teamwork.

Something about the 1 kill, 1 assist, and win just brings out the worst in people. Everyone is shooting every enemy they can, and if you're in their way, oh well. I'd like to see stats on friendly damage because I'll bet it skyrockets during this event. Also, it seems like they all forget that "win" stipulation as nobody plays with that in mind. A team game becomes a free for all as individuals are out for themselves.

I just don't think this type of challenge matches the type of game MWO represents.

It also encourages teams to not play together because instead of playing other organized teams and reducing your odds of winning, you'll play another team of randoms and increase your odds of winning. Any challenge that encourages you to NOT play with your friends is a failure.

I'd rather see challenges where points are given based on kills/assists without a win qualifier or a challenge based on just being a part of winning teams. How about a challenge that tallies your match scores over a period of time?

There are so many other ways to do this type of challenge without discouraging teamwork.

Sums up everything I said before, and what most of you said about the previous challenge. Seems like it's a common theme in that chain, so here's hoping they don't run this particular type of challenge again.

Yeah, the Innersphere Comstar... that's the one I want.

And it doesn't seem to be for sale, or I don't know where to find it.

Unless in game it is called a Cameron Star Warhorn?

Also 2 mech bays for 300.

Ha, I love the bombastic warhorns. It's like a massive, audible FUCK YOU every time you kill someone. Makes me smile.
