OSU needs PSU to lose...I think. I was at a party tonight and we were discussing what the tiebreaker would be, and nobody has a clue. I think the most logical tiebreaker would be who is ranked the highest since you want to be represented in the playoffs.

Hmmm. Rank factors on somewhere, I think account uses it as 8th tiebreaker or so.

As for the ACC, Clemson can beat anyone on the nation, but also lose to anyone in the nation.

PSU lost to Michigan.
OSU lost to PSU.
So if OSU beats Michigan...three way tie.

And I see what you're saying. OSU would get the tiebreaker based on record. PSU has two loses so they're out. OSU and Michigan would each have one, but OSU beat Michigan, so they win.

As for Clemson-FSU, this Cook kid for FSU is incredible. Take away a clipping and Cook dropping a wide open pass and this game is an FSU blowout.

A&M fourth, Washington 5th in the first playoff rankings. Not a big surprise given Washington's easier schedule, though it sure shows an SEC bias.

Where the SEC bias comes from is the polls. There was a week this year where 10 SEC teams were in the top 25. As we know now, that's a joke. However, all those ranked teams made A&M's schedule look tougher. I mean Tennessee was in the top 5 and they have 4 losses.

The important thing is that A&M and Bama can't both play in the SEC championship, thus one of them has no shot at the playoffs and considering A&M already lost to Bama...

Unless some major upset occurs, the final four are: Bama, Clemson, Washington, and the winner of OSU-Michigan.

But what happens if any of these teams lose in their conference championship?

Bama losing means two SEC teams :)

Washington losing means two SEC teams, or (less likely) 2 Big Ten/ACC teams.

Nick Saban said he wasn't aware that millions of Americans went to the polls on Tuesday to vote for the next president of the United States.

"It was so important to me that I didn't even know it was happening," Alabama's head football coach told reporters in Tuscaloosa on Wednesday evening. "We're focused on other things here."

To be fair, news media isn't part of Saban's routine.

The 65-year-old coach typically wakes up every morning, has a Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme Pie and a cup of coffee and watches about 10 minutes of The Weather Channel, which promised no political coverage on Election Day.

Surely someone told Saban on Wednesday morning that Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton, but we can't be sure.

"I don't really make political comments," Saban said. "If I say I like one person, that means that everybody that voted for the other person doesn't like me. So why would I do that? I want what's best for our country. I'm not sure I can figure that out. I want what's best for people who want to improve the quality of their life, and I hope whoever our leader is will certainly do all that he can do to make our country safe and improve the quality of life of a lot of people in our country -- and I don't think I'm qualified to determine who that should be."

Saban's undefeated and No. 1-ranked Crimson Tide will host Mississippi State on Saturday in Bryant-Denny Stadium.

I think he's lying. He's an old white man who has to convince young black men to come play football for him. His mentor, Belichick, wrote a letter supporting Trump.

This is his way of deflecting any political question that could be asked of him.

I wonder. Saban is absolutely obsessed with football and his system. I could believe it after articles I've read about him. It's all about football for him.

Belichik on the other hand has lots of non-football interests, particularly American history.

There is zero chance he had no idea the election was happening. Zero.

There's an off season. There's bye weeks. He has a wife, kids, friends, other coaches, players, other co-workers, and nobody even slightly mentioned the election? Nobody on his staff was 5 minutes late or left a little early to vote?

I could believe he doesn't know who Taylor Swift is, but not that he had no clue about an election in his country. This is a guy who played himself in the movie The Blind Side. He's so focused he can go film a movie, but not watch a single second of any news, comedy, or opinion show? Highly, highly unlikely.

In other news, apparently several NFL teams are going to be throwing blank checks at Harbaugh (I've heard up to $6 million more a year!), and Les Miles has been at Michigan games already. This is going to get interesting.

Personally, I'd welcome the booger eater to Pittsburgh.
