Earned the Centurion tonight. Started rapid firing games. Would enter a game and play like I normally would. As soon as I died, I would exit that match and start another with the other mech. Kept doing that over and over and I earned C-Bills MUCH faster. Spent a bunch on new parts for the centurion and still have more than I started with an hour ago. We REALLY need to start doing that when multi playing. No point sitting around waiting for games to end. Time is C-Bills after all.

i'm pretty sure that you don't earn your assists bonuses (the ones that happen after your dead)and possibly other bonuses that happen thru the game once you leave it. But i can see this being a good idea especially if you had a horrible game and die immediatley. But if we're in a group we would have to wait for the last person to die anyways, so in some cases it might be worth waiting for the game to end.

I'm going to try and find some info on this because i know i read something about this before but can't remember the particulars.

Let me know what you find because I was doing this all day Sunday, and made a couple million.

I earned the Centurion in 6 games, and then broke down Sunday and bought another Cataphract, the CTF-1X.

First, that Centurian is meh. I had some good games with him, and some bad ones. I'm not in love with it because I feel he's too big to be a fast mech (circle strafing the big boys), and too small to be a heavy mech (can't brawl and doesn't bring tons of damage). However, perhaps the build he came with just sucks? In fact, I'm sure it does. I'm thisclose to getting his basic tier abilities purchased, and will sideline him after that while I continue to head to Elite in the Cataphracts, but I'll come back at some point and look for a good build.

Overheating is the word of the day in my new Cataphract 1X. It comes outfitted with 4 Medium Lasers, an AC-10, and a PPC. It's completely maxed on tonnage. I need to drive this one often until I max the basic tiers, and then move onto one last Cataphract. I might try this build with it though:

After the 1X, I don't know if I'll get the 2X (cheaper), the 3D (supposed to be the best?), or the IM (long shot since it costs actual money).

I'm loving my CTF-4X right now. I'm getting pretty good with it, and I've taken down more than one Atlas in a 1v1 brawl. Took down a Boar's Head that way!

Even though I love it, I still don't have the tonnage maxed out. Using that Smurfy site, I realized I could stick AC-10s in instead of AC-5s, but I'd be firing much slower. I could also remove the AC-5s, and stick in dual AC-2s and basically fire cannon shots like a machine gun.

I did learn that Stranger gave me a bit of bad advice in my build though

The XL engine did buy me some additional space, but it also made me more vulnerable when someone target my left or right torso, which are easy to hit on the Cataphracts. So I think I'm going to remove it, and shove a standard 255 in there. Then I'm going to C.A.S.E. all my ammo and see how durable this bad boy becomes.

Still, looking forward to earning elite on the Cataphracts and seeing what kind of advantage that gives me in battle. Elite gives a x2 to all the basic tier stuff!

I've got about 3 days left on my premium time, and I've been looking at the current bundle packages. Apparently, MC doesn't go on sale often, so I don't know if it's worth trying to wait for that. In the meantime, those bundles are enticing. Not just because you're getting a champion mech, but they have 30 days of premium time. So you're not just getting that mech, but more than likely just playing for a month will earn you enough for a handful of other mechs.

I don't recall ever suggesting you buy an XL engine for your CFT, i might have suggested a bigger engine so you could get extra speed. An XL on larger mechs are user's choice. The XL will take up extra slots and you will die if either of your torsos get blown up, but the trade off is a much lighter engine.

So its kind of a hard choice to make, because if you want that extra movespeed the XL will give you, you must put in a much heavier engine thus sacrificing weapons in return. I still haven't decided what i like best in my bigger mechs, in my Orion i still run the standard 340 that came with it, but sometimes i wish i could move a little faster.

On another note i did buy the 85 ton Battlemaster the other day. i spent all my c-bills and i need to save up some more before i can buy the endo-steel and double heatsincs so its not battle ready as of yet.

So i guess MW has been running these "stealth sales" on hero mechs for the last 10 days or so. They don't advertise it on the web page at all you will have to be in game and click on the "store" tab to see it. I originally got my Orion at 50% off but this was when they were advertising it, i never knew they just kept it going without letting anyone know.

The sales start and end at 1pm EST and only last for 24 hours. As of now the Death Knell is on sale for 50% off. This is a 25 ton light Commando. Remember Hero mechs get 30% bonus c-bill in every game they play in and it can be combined with premium time to get an 80% bonus each match.

I'll post a link to the forums where people are tracking the sales and update what is on sale. Of course you can just see who is on sale once your in game, you just gotta click the store button, something i haven't been doing.

I'd think you would like the Ilya Muromets, the Cataphract to round out your set of three.

Personally i'd like the JagerMech Firebrand, the Victor Dragonslayer, or the Highlander Heavy Metal just so i can hear some rock n roll when i get kills!

An interesting post from one of the staff about how Mechwarrior is going to address matchmaking. It talks of ELO, weight limits, and group sizes. This is going to be called the "Launch Module" and it's the precursor to the much anticipated Clan Wars.

Our last week should have been a no mod server. People seem to like the C4, OR, most people avoid the mod list. I know I did in the beginning. Thought it meant a custom map, or whacked out game version or something.

Might try removing Oxide, and changing the wipe date to today, but, don't actually wipe.
