Shockingly, we have little love for them up here as well. 6-1 final.

Penguins made last night interesting. San Jose and St. Louis, though:

1) Blues last won and scored a goal in the opener in San Jose.
2) Sharks on the road shut out the Lose two times running. They had one "bad" period out of six, and even that one ended with a 1-0 lead.

Home ice advantage means shit.
East:
Gm 1 Tampa Bay 3 Pittsburgh 1

Gm 2 Pittsburgh 3 Tampa Bay 2 (OT)

Gm 3 Pittsburgh 4 Tampa Bay 2

Gm 4 Tampa Bay 4 Pittsburgh 3

West:
Gm 1 St Louis 2 San Jose 1

Gm 2 San Jose 4 St Louis 0

Gm 3 San Jose 3 St Louis 0

Gm 4 St Louis 4 San Jose 0*

* = not over yet
2nd intermission, Blues have knocked out the Shark's goalie for the first time this postseason.

The home team loses again. 4-3 Sharks, giving them a 3-2 series lead.

Home team wins in San Jose. Blues are gone. I'm temporarily becoming a Sharks fan. I know someone who went to high school with their captain, Joe Pavelski. There's a realistic chance I could see the cup at his home if they win.

I've owned merchandise for two NHL teams in my lifetime. The Penguins, obviously, as they're my favorite team. I also bought a t-shirt for an expansion team back in the day, the Sharks.

Go Pens! (but I won't be devastated if the Sharks win it all)

My chances to see the cup in person are looking shitty.

2) Alger Hiss is indicted

What do all these things have in common? They all happened the last year Cleveland won anything.
