Diet....contest?
I decided to go pure fitness tracker and try the Fitbit Charge HR, instead of the Surge.
The Surge is large, interrupts my typing, and the smart phone stuff just isn't that good. The bluetooth cuts out a lot, and all you can receive notifications for is texts, no emails. The screen displays the same information as the Charge, but larger. It doesn't use the larger screen real estate well. The GPS is nice, but if I just use my phone (which is nice to have on runs and bike rides anyway - for music, emergencies, etc), I don't really need it. And it kills the battery.
Good news is that FitBit allows for free returns for any reason (you pay shipping), and I found the Charge HR for 15% off at AT&T, and it arrives Monday.

It's not me, it's someone else.
Government starting to admit carbs make you fat, and has been recommending fucked up diets based on bad science for the last 30 years.

That'd be Christopher Ochner, an assistant professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, no doubt hoping you'll spring for some expensive surgery.
Ochner said. "In people who have been obese for many years, he noted, "body weight seems to become biologically 'stamped in' and defended."

Our federal government, ladies and gentlemen.
Also, they are still pushing the carbs they just don't call them carbs.

Machine motion != free weight motion. A still photo and a couple arrows aren't a good explanation. If you want to get technique down, YouTube some vids and get a mirror.GORDON wrote:Oh.
Well most machines have little diagrams on them. Do those and then move on to dumbbells when you are ready.
And a lot of peeps will do upper body one day, alternating legs the next. Or whatever.
Just get a personal trainer.

I've got a gym membership. At home, I have Adjustable dumbbells. Oh, and I have a universal weight machine now that I forgot about. (So I can do lat pulldowns, etc)
What I'm looking for is something that I can do in 30 minutes, 2-3 times per week.
I had a previous routine of: Dumbbell Squats, Dumbbell lunges, Push-ups, and Pull-ups. But I got lazy and stopped.
A home routine 2x/week, gym 1x/week would be nice.

If you get a fitness ball and some space at home, you should be able to use those dumbbells to good effect. The weight machine's a decent enough alternative to the free weights and solid bars at the gym.
