Tribalism is a hell of a drug.
I really hope this moment calms the sides down, but I doubt it. Last night on CNN, a talking head I didn't recognize went on a rant about how the constant messaging of "the sky is falling if Trump gets elected" and the enabling of political violence, like we saw in 2020, or the softball game shooting, Jan 6th, or the attempt on the life of a SCOTUS judge has led us to the point. It's led us to where people think the only option to prevent "the end of democracy" is violence. Wolf Blitzer was quick to do the "both sides" comment.
I personally think it's our politicians, their MSM cronies, and social media. "The War on Women". "The War on Democracy". "Trump Promises a Bloodbath". "Trump Says He'll be a Dictator".
We all fall into traps like this where we see one side or the other doing things that we know lead down bad paths, but the mentally unbalanced will act on this shit. We absolutely need to condemn political violence no matter when it happens.
He was a registered R, but that means nothing. Like you point out, many do it to fuck with primaries. Plus, two years is a long time. We're talking family influence and then heading to college/spending time on the internet. Remember the Pelosi attacker was a far left person who we were told was radicalized by the extreme right in a very short period. Hell, I live with two people who have completely radicalized to the point that I hear "They're taking all our rights away" on a daily basis, and that came about simply through TikTok. It happens very easily.
You're saying the extreme right is anti-Trump? Well, the left leaning Rs are called RINOs and they're anti-Trump. We the hell are the Trump supporters then? Ds?

As I pointed out last night, watch the video closely. I think Trump saved himself with a head turn.GORDON wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 10:59 am The AR is the base model of the M-16. Small round, supersonic. Good range if used correctly. For me, a headshot with regular, open sights, and a stable prone position (like laying on a roof), and apparently he had all day to sight in according to the BBC interview, would have been a sure thing at anything less than 150 yards. I wouldn't even need a scope. Only a strong wind would matter much at that range.
Also, there are a lot of questions that need to be answered like:
-How did that guy get access to that position?
-A dude carrying a rifle outside this event didn't raise any flags?
-He had a scoped rifle and still missed with 6 shots. I wish he were still alive today to hear the people mocking him from both sides of the political spectrum.
-Why were the reports to police of his activity ignored?
-Why did Biden's WH deny the constant requests for additional SS resources for Trump's detail? (His detail made those requests, not Trump.)
-Why did CNN say on air AFTER THE SHOOTING that the Trump team's claims that there is a danger for an incident like this one were unfounded?
-Why did the female SS agents come off looking so bad last night?
Blatant propaganda. Seriously, anyone mentioning this is either intentionally lying or showing you how deep they are in echo chambers.
Project 2025 has nothing to do with Trump or his campaign. This type of rhetoric is why the shooting happened.
Ha!
MSNBC is complete propaganda and they should lose their right to claim "press". It takes two seconds of googling to see where Project 2025 originated, the purpose of it, how this is done for every R president going back decades, how none of them listen to it, and how Trump has disavowed it. Reporting it as Trump's is malicious and the intent is to sway voters.
