196. 16 pounds to go.
191. 11 pounds to go.
Change from 11/1 -> Down 22 pounds (turns out I was 213 on 11/1, not 211). Body fat down from 28.4% to 18.6%
By those numbers, I've basically lost just fat, and lean mass is steady in the 150-155 range. Apparently lifting weight 1-2 times per week has been enough to keep my muscles from atrophying.

You should lift more.
"To maintain a healthy weight and waistline, it is critical to incorporate weight training with aerobic exercise."
Shit I theorized about 2-3 years ago when I started hitting the gym. I'd like to add my muscles were less sore a day after lifting when I finished it off with thirty minutes of cardio plus some fitness ball-supported stretching.

I received a Fitbit Charge for Christmas. I'll post a review after using it for a while.

Let me know what you think of it. I was just looking at the ones coming out shortly (UP3 / Fitbit Surge) today

So I had some surgery last week. Before the surgery, I was as low as 189, and was 192 or so on surgery morning. (I had eaten carbs the day before)
3 days later, I stepped on a scale (admittedly, in the middle of the day, not first thing in the morning) and was 205. In the pain-killer haze, I had started eating carbs regularly again, but was surprised to see my weight up 13 pounds. [TMI warning] Of course, it turned out another regularity issue was also a problem. I was on Percocet, which constipates me horribly. Sure enough, I hadn't pooped since Sunday. I finally pooped on Thursday, and lost 3.4 pounds just by pooping. A little more clearing out, and I was down to 199 yesterday afternoon, and 197 first thing this morning.
So I gained a few pounds, but a decent amount of it is probably carb/water weight. I can resume exercising in 2 weeks, so we'll see.

I love that comic.
So far, the Fitbit Charge is nice. I wish I had the Fitbit Charge HR for the heart rate stuff, and I still might make a change, but this is ok. It's still mostly a manual process for the eating, drinking, exercise (kinda of), and some of the sleeping, but it's a nice companion tool for anyone in a exercise program. It won't do the exercises for you, but it can help you lead a healthier lifestyle.
Certainly don't buy it unless you're serious about getting into shape and/or leading a healthier lifestyle.

If you are serious about the weight loss, I highly recommend DietBet.com and Healthywage.com. I have made several hundred $ from those sites losing weight so far.
Dietbet is the easier of the two. You can sign up for 3 bets at a time (4% in 1 month, or 10% in 6 months), and it only requires 1 picture per month. To get the most money, you could do the following:
1) Sign up for 2 1-month challenges, and 1 6-month challenge.
2) At the end of 1-month, sign up for another 1-month challenge, and another 6-month challenge.
3) At the end of the 2nd month, sign up for another 6-month challenge.
[That is the plan I am following right now, having won the 1-month challenges, and am now in step #3]
Assuming you could/want to lose that much weight. To win all of those bets, I think you'd end up at 197.4 at most.
Healthwage.com is different. The bet varies based on what you want to lose and time horizon.

How much does it tell you about sleep, and is that information usable/actionable?

I have to tell my phone I'm going to sleep and then it tracks how long I sleep and how often I wake up. When you wake up, you tell your phone you're awake. My numbers are much lower than I thought they would be.

Hmm. That feels like something that should be more automated, or at least doable with a single device.
They couldn't have a sleep mode on the device where you push a button when you wake up?

This seems ridiculously easy to fake. They basically only want a picture of your feet on the scale, and the number.

Yeah, no sugar/carbs today.
I don't know if I am going fully carb-free, or just going to reduce my portions. Haven't really decided, just going with it.

Low sugar/carb works well for me (50-75g a day). I lost the most weight at 20-30 per day, and exercising.
Accelerating your body into ketosis will help with the headaches (burning out glycogen stores with cardio). And drinking extra water.
The premise they are hoping for on the weight loss competition is that digital scales are generally harder to fake (you must use a digital). Dietbet also doesn't really care - You are winning other people's money, they get paid regardless. Healthywage cares more, so they make you submit a video.
