Seeing Aljazeera story saying the shooter was a R. Anyone confirm?

People were running wild blaming it on all kinds of actors, and using a picture of some random Italian guy for a while…

State voter records show that Crooks was a registered Republican and the upcoming November 5 election would have been the first time Crooks had been old enough to vote in a presidential race.

I saw he was registered republican, but he'd donated to dem stuff. I have family who registered as republicans so they can try to fuck up primary elections.

And it was an AR. Never shot one, can’t comment much, but most people are hitting their deer at that range, right?

Think he might have been one of those Q-anon Republican types. Swing so far over they become anti trump.

I would not have guessed AR, it sounded chunkier than that on the TV station audio. I stand corrected.

The AR is the base model of the M-16. Small round, supersonic. Good range if used correctly. For me, a headshot with regular, open sights, and a stable prone position (like laying on a roof), and apparently he had all day to sight in according to the BBC interview, would have been a sure thing at anything less than 150 yards. I wouldn't even need a scope. Only a strong wind would matter much at that range.

I literally saw it a few minutes before I posted it. I think it was MSNBC... the headline was, "Trump has exposed his weakness." I thought, "His ear?" I clicked on it, and it was all about P2025, and how Trump is doing it. I thought it was a pretty tactless article, and thought it was a lame attempt to deflect on what was happening, but then I saw it was dated 3 days ago. So.

Maybe they should pull that article for a minute.

At that range, a supersonic round might go off target 2 inches, if the target is already in motion. A good center-melon aim would have killed him no matter what. Center mass body, even easier.
