Always buy in quantities of 10, as each additional unit costs 10% of base price more than previous unit.

I'm level 17. But if you just macro the missions, you'll be buying land in units of 10 within a day or two. Then just stockpile that gold, buy more land in lots of 10, etc, etc.

I own 1 field, 1 farm, 1 shack, and 1 small manor.
I've got 40 food and 1 of everything in the armoury that is available to me right now.

Left my MOM macro running the last couple days on the server... only gained 1 level (up to 7) and had about 90k gold banked.
I expected better.

I left mine up overnight and went from 7 to 10.

Maybe you weren't running the most efficient macro? Or maybe you died a lot and lost XP?
I'm turning about 1 level per day at level 18.

No deaths.
My macro was showing a "page not found" when I got back, though... and I know this macro would just cycle through that (i think), so I dunno what happened.

Buy up multiples of the weapons and armor... it seems to make a difference when you attack/defend with real people.

Why is it I can only attack people the same level as me, but I can get attacked and killed by level 36 people? Because it just happened.
If this is an exploit, I'm done.

Timeouts happen. My gold banking macro died overnight, lost about 100k by this morning.

78k per 40 minutes. Should hit level 20 by end of day and see what gets unlocked.
