We have a Republican Senate + Republican President, following 2 years of a Republican controlled everything. Rs controlled the 114th, and the House in the 112th and 113th.

Republicans passed a large tax cut for lot of Democrats.

On Reddit in "Unpopular Opinion" I suggested that college loan debt should be forgivable... if the borrower relinquishes the degree the money paid for.

I don't have CoL adjusted data, so it's impossible to argue. I'd say it's probably still in the 60-40 range, 55-45 worst case, after adjustments.

Maybe fair, probably not. I think you're really underselling the difference in CoL. I've been told my house would go for $3 million or so in Democratic stronghold California. I bought it for just under $200K in a right wing suburb of Toledo. When I was researching jobs while still a lowly help desk peon, I found one in very Dem leaning Miami that was the same level, but I could have made over 5x the salary.

I'd still argue there are more adjustments to be made. Some of the highest paid jobs skew Dem, like actors, athletes, and those in silicon valley. So people completely out of touch with the real world, coddled morons, and quite possibly the greatest concentration of unintentional evil the planet has ever seen.

But yeah, it is impossible to argue.

Also, there was a sex study years back posted here that showed Conservatives enjoyed a far more satisfying and adventurous sex life than Liberals, so they've got that going for them.

This isn't without merit. I think if one of us was enterprising enough to detail all of the names in the Sex Scandal thread, the majority would lean left politically.

By the way Catt, I could never read your original article as the Wall Street Journal wants money. What were the data collection methods? What was the sample size? Where was the sample from? Who collected it? Who authorized/paid for the study?

Based on my college experiences, I would say so.. But I think Republicans skew older, too. But apparently the study we are referencing only looked at millennials.

In our late teens and early 20s, we're all liberal. That's how we naturally are as humans. We're open to new experiences and ideas. As we get older, we learn and experience which teaches us how stupid some of those ideas were when we were younger. Chicks in their late teens (LEGAL AGE!!!) and early 20s are all about you. They're willing to do things women 10+ years older aren't willing to do. They haven't really been burned. They have no regrets about their life yet. They really don't know shit about sex or relationships. They romanticize everything about the guy in their life, which is why so many fall victim to bad boys, older men, yada, yada, yada.

Point being, everyone that age should be having great and adventurous sex. They also tend to be liberal, and thus, would tend to identify themselves as Dems.

Also, and this isn't a minor point, but the left and the MSM have made it ridiculously uncool to be a Republican. They've equated the word with racist, sexist, homophobe, etc. Kids are going to be very unlikely to list themselves in that way, particularly if someone is watching.

Ok, onto the current study, you know who is a huge liberal in college aged people? Those who have everything taken care of, aren't working, have no worries, etc.

I don't trust studies like this, particularly when they're so obviously set up to be biased, intentional or not. (But let's be honest, it's intentional.)

It's like if we did a study of porn and only 10% admit to watching it, yet porn is a tens of billions of dollars a year business. Must only be super rich people watching it...

I suspect this is about to swing the other way. I've been seeing a lot of articles from liberals freaking out that their kids are watching Jordan Peterson and Ben Shapiro on YouTube as a way to rebel. It's also coming back to bite them in the ass because of the tendency to dismiss or "cancel" conservative arguments. So when their kids come at them with valid points, they can't defend their positions in a debate and freak the hell out.

As long as the fathers are seen as conservatives, that's what most kids will rebel against.
