Long shot call: between the Metallica-Master of Puppets/Stranger Things event of last year, and Gojira crushing it at the Olympics opening ceremonies with a metal/opera version of a traditional French revolution song, complete with fire and decapitations and blood spraying out of a castle, I predict this will be the beginning of the end of bubble gum pop (for now) and metal will swing around again as more kids appreciate actual musicians being entertaining. Fake musicians have pretty much peaked, just as hair metal had in 1990 when grunge appeared. This is that moment, again.
