Birds are dinosaurs in the same sense that elephants are wooly mammoths and humans are chimpanzees, in the same sense that GORDO is Mommy Dearest.

Coincidentally, my daughter watched "Between the Lions" on PBS this morning and they had a long bit about how birds were dinosaurs.
