Interesting he's looking at OSU.

He should go to UNC :)

I saw elsewhere that he is strongly leaning OSU because of Ryan Day.

I missed UNC's defensive coordinator hire, but seems promising. Apparently Mack Brown's first choice got vetoed (a former DC he had worked with who had mediocre track record).
Mack Brown made a big hire over the weekend, naming the Defensive Coordinator at Army, Jay Bateman, as the Co-Defensive Coordinator for the Tar Heels. He’ll serve in the role along with returning staff member Tommy Thigpen. Bateman will coach the safeties, while Thigpen will take on the role as coach of the linebackers.

So who are the Tar Heels getting with this hire?

Bateman led the Army defense for five seasons, from 2014-2018, and has been coaching since 1997. His first season was a rough one for the Black Knights, as they finished 90th overall in defense and Army only managed a 4-8 record. They were especially poor in stopping the run, giving up nearly 200 yards a game. From that point forward, however, Army managed to rise up the board. They finished 50th in total defense in 2015, and then an outstanding 3rd in 2016. That effort got him nominated for the Broyles Award as one of the top coordinators in the country. They slipped to 33rd in 2017, but jumped back up to 8th this season, and once again he was nominated for the Broyles award, this time being named a finalist.

4-star QB recruit decommits from FSU, picks UNC

I imagine that's about as good as news well get for us today.

Dude had 33 offers, including Bama, OSU, Georgia, Michigan, etc.

Good grab on that QB.

OSU has had mixed results today. Lost a DB to Bama that was already suspect before Urban left. Also lost a 4 star QB to Georgia, but there's speculation he flipped because of 5 star QB Fields probably heading to OSU.

We did get a 5 star commit from a guy who was 50/50 between us and TTUN, so that was nice. TTUN had a good day too, so congrats Cake.

UNC moved from 62nd overall to 36th, and from 13th (of 14) in the ACC to 6th. Promising start.

This could go in Today's Moron Champion, but it's sports, so...

Why is nobody defending me on this dunk?

Hebert returning for his senior season.

This is interesting because it was already a very small and weak QB class. Haskins, barring something crazy will be the #1 QB and with the limited options, the value for whatever draft pick will grab him just shot way up.

Three Bama players suspended for also failing PED tests. ESPN is doing their best to try and sweep it under a rug saying the "players were caught up in the process".

What the fuck does that mean? You mean they got caught cheating?

Whoa, wait... The Clemson players explicitly said PED. The Bama players said "team rules violation" in the article(s) I read.

First ever weather bowl game cancellation.
A series of lightning strikes from a powerful storm in Dallas forced the cancellation the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl between No. 23 Boise State and Boston College.

Boston College was leading 7-0 with 5:08 remaining in the first quarter when lighting struck near the historic Cotton Bowl. A game delay turned into a cancellation nearly an hour and a half later, after more lightning and the threat of more severe weather.
The game was officially declared a no contest. It's the first bowl game in history to be canceled because of inclement weather, organizers said on the bowl's website.

I had read the same, but today I saw a report that it was PED linked. I didn't save it or I'd pull it up for you.

Maybe that report was erroneous, but even if it wasn't, it wouldn't matter. Nothing will happen.

The one man who the entire CFP is setup to benefit doesn't want it changed.

Color me shocked.

Doubly shocked that ESPN considers this front page news.

Now being reported as NCAA violations.
