I mean, work together on stuff. Is it all single player quests until 30? Your statement implies you don't work with other people for leveling until level 30.

I don't think you get it.

If i choose to do it, I could literally plant trees and harvest them and cut them into boards all the way to 30(or hell, 50). It would take a while, but hey, it'd be pretty profitable. Instead If I wanted to do it really fast I could do one of the dungeons with a group, or run the quest areas with a group, or do a few dozen other things I can think of.

If you don't want to play this game, don't humor us man. Just do it or don't.

Youch. I'm really just trying to understand what's being posted. For instance, if this was UO, we'd be pooling resources, pooling gold, and working together to get something. Trying to figure out if that happens in this game. Even in Eve, you could party up and go do the same quests together. Do you do that here? Or is it a single player game till level 30? Is there any advantage, or even opportunity, to work as a team? If so, what is it? Sounds like we can. I think it would be a bummer if we were all playing the same game, but not playing with each other. Plus, if there's an advantage to grouping and doing stuff, again, I want to do that to maximize returns on effort. Your original statement implies that you solo the game till level 30. I was surprised and disappointed. Wanted to verify.

Also, those 'speed quest' opportunities will be abused and patched out REAL quick. So, use them as soon as you can!

I'm disappointed I don't have early access today because literally the whole family is sick and I had to stay home from work and it woulda been nice to get in early.

Troy, keep us posted on how things go today!

As far as building a team, its really nice that you can change what class you're playing at anytime you wish. So I recommend that people experiment with what they like until we settle in on particular roles. There are some classes that are way more popular now and some that just don't even make sense to play, but we can get into that when that becomes more important.

Teamwork.. well yes, just like UO we can work together to gather resources. This will help with getting the house, farm and boat built. The cool thing is, we don't all have to be on at the same time to contribute in that manner. But in the beginning there is definitely a solo aspect to the game, doing quests to get your mount and just learning the game. So that's to be expected. I know there are dungeons that are PvE that you have to run with others, but I hadn't gotten to that point in the game yet.

So since the rest of us aren't getting early access I suggest that new players just learn the game and gather whatever resources that we may need at first, there is no need to rush anything since we cannot get a house anyways. Although I'm pretty sure that I will become a patron shortly after launch because we will need the extra labor points and then I can also get us a secondary house and farms in a different location.

Is there a guide or something you guys have found that'll help me build my character? I like archery and someone mentioned a tree with stuns?

And again, we're being humans or elves?

I just caved and bought the silver pack. can't help it, but I had to stay home from work so it works out perfectly.

I'm going with an Elf on the Ollo server. But I don't think it will matter if you are human.

I'll see what I can find on build guides Leisher.

I'm glad you mentioned server. So we're all going:
-Ollo server
-Human or Elf so we're on the Western continent

I'm gonna try elf, but human works just as well. Maybe if I actually create my guy and don't like any of the elf customization options I'll stay human.

At this point I know very very little about the classes either, Leisher. I literally typed, "what's a stun heavy pvp build" into a forum and went with the first response. Just doing whatever you want should be fine - you can switch at any point for a small amount of money anyway - so why not explore.

e: sounds good stranger, I can do the farm route...
Lemme whip up a map of what I know so far and that will help.

so troy, now that we can both play today we should make a plan. one of us rush a house the other a farm maybe? I will have to afk through out the day though because of my sick family but it should be good enough to get us something going.

also, I never bought a house or farm the first go round so I'm gonna be slow getting that all figured out. And I know only certain houses can be placed in certain areas so that will take a little research.

I know you mentioned Two Crowns as a good area, I have also heard the same from others and I suspect that to be a popular spot. So lets try for Two Crowns and if that doesn't work out then anywhere else if fine with me.

Humans or Elves starter spots shown. Either way you meet up in Lilyut Hills for the Farm + Trade quest lines.

In Red are the two main housing spots in Two Crowns. I did the North plot, because the Southern Plot was totally full early in the closed beta. It's a gem. Right next to the water and with a clear shot to the other continent by boat. Either way you are next to water and the regions workbench.

To the East of Two Crowns is Cinderstone Moor, a PVP Region and I only ventured in once to see how much housing room there was - the answer was plenty. The way the trading system will work is that delivering to the pvp Regions will be more lucrative than the inland safe Regions.

Cool, that helps a lot. So are you going for farms first? i'll try for the house if that's the case

Sounds good to me. I'll add the best mine I found too.

So, Southern Two Crowns is my first shot. Northern 2C if that's already full.

You got it exactly. You get the Gilda from the green quests and they are finite.

Marketplace conversion is 1250 credits for 10 bucks.

I'm likely blowing some of my patron package early on a glider. After that I'll just add as needed for house upkeep.
