This might be the most embarrassing video of any politician I've ever seen, and I include Marion Berry in that statement.

How unpopular has Starmer's term been? Labor just lost a historic number of seats.

I read this book (Open Borders) a few years ago, and it makes a persuasive argument about open borders, liberal immigration policies, etc.

But I couldn't help but feel it was just wrong.

I read this weekend about a study showing how the children of Muslim immigrant, in liberal Western European society(-ies?) still think that Muslim rules should be laws. And you know what? I 0% want that.

Has England lost their fucking minds?

They lock up people for posting opinions online, won't prosecute immigrants who commit rape (more rapes this year than the past decade combined or some shit), but they will go after you for catcalling...

This is what happens when you rule based on virtue signaling.

So, I'm kinda OK with this. They should prosecute the rapes, etc, of course. But why let shitty men think this stuff is OK?

The reason this is bad is because it's subjective and prejudiced at every level. Not to mention I'm sure free speech advocates will have something to say about it.

Are guys who, literally, catcall women idiots? Unquestionably. Are they criminal? No.

It's very Minority Report to think that someone that honks at a cute girl will ultimately commit a rape. Not to mention insanely bigoted and sexist. I've been catcalled by women. Yet, there doesn't seem to be an emphasis there.

Side note: "But you're a man and there's no physical threat to you". That's something that will be argued by women not realizing how it contradicts their "women and men are equal in every way" arguments. :D

Did you hear the cop say "stares"? If we're tossing guys in jail for, let's say, whistling at a cute woman, then it's not a stretch to toss them in jail for staring...or what is perceived to be staring. People zone out and stare all the time. Better hope your head isn't aimed at a woman!

If a male runner passes them and says, "Morning lovely ladies", is that 20 years in jail? What if a woman runs by and says the same? Now you've got the cops writing tickets and making arrests based on what they think intent was, which is not ok.

And what's next? Do we lock up someone for calling someone else an asshole because that will obviously lead to assault and/or murder?

This behavior isn't criminal, and thus, shouldn't be handled by police. It should have been taught in the home by the parents, but you know, we can't ask parents to actual raise their kids here in 2025.

It's a small form of harassment. And it's one thing to be like "You hot"/honk versus more than 1 comment/action/etc.

It is different being a man. Even when I got sexually assaulted by a woman, I knew I was in control and could remove her or myself from the situation without issue.

I think it's fine for the police to intervene and say something. I wouldn't say it's go to jail, unless it's higher harassment.

Sure, but there are so many similar forms of harassment that apply to men and women that they're ignoring. And yes, while I disagree with the waste of time and resources this represents, I would tell them a line needs to be crossed before action should be taken. A simple honk is fine. A guy yelling "Wow" out his window while driving bye is fine. A single wolf whistle as they run bye is ok. Don't get me wrong, all are stupid and only show the woman why you're not worth her time, just saying that none are "harassment that needs to be punished". People that follow them. People rubbing their dicks while saying things. Etc. Those I'm fine getting a talking to.

And BTW, if you think women wouldn't complain once all catcalling stopped, you're delulu.

Of course, because we understand science and reality. Men are stronger. Except...women DO rape men. Usually they use other means of power to do so, whether it's a position of authority, age (I couldn't fight back when I was a kid), alcohol/drugs, blackmail, etc. And yes, there are the rare cases of a woman overpowering a man sexually.

In a country where they're not prosecuting rape (because of who is doing it), arresting people for saying mean things online (including non-offensive things just differing opinions), and have quite a large spike in violent crime for some reason... I think this program is ultimately a waste of resources and targeting the wrong people.

It's a dog and pony show while actual rapists are having a field day.

Well, in parents' defense, there are cases where parents are ALLOWED to raise their kids.

There are people working very hard to eliminate any moments where a parent is involved in their kids' lives.
