Good thing they didn't cut him, because now he's only 1 snap away from playing as Flacco is traded to the Bengals.

Poor Joe Flacco. I'd think of being traded away from the Browns as a win... except for that one place, the Bengals.

Is the Giants thing a record?

Trading away a QB within division kind of says a lot about what you think of the QB.

Hmmm. 4 seems pretty high for 5 games. But the first one is 100%, the second is probably 50%, it's the 3rd and 4th that get to the difficult stage. But I'd bet on higher. I could not find any data in a quick google.

Dude blew the game with a brainless action. Yeah, I'd be mad, too.

It just says so much about how off the rails our society has gone when a coach can't yell at a player for doing basically the dumbest thing possible.

Should he have put him in time out?

You can't hit your players though. Sure, he didn't ball up his fist and punch the guy. But you still can't get physical. He should have left it as a verbal beating, which was warranted.

I imagine there's a lot of roided up dudes in the NFL that if someone was in their face slapping them like that would have responded physically as well. Escalating the incident. Coach has to use his words.

Eh. His barely hit his pads as far as I can tell.

You can't barely hit your players pads out of anger!

Bullshit. The guy is in a helmet and pads. If a coach slaps him in the pads, he barely feels it. Have you seen the 300 pound men running 20+ MPH who get into head on collisions with these guys?

There is a HUGE difference between hitting someone's pads to show your disgust and launching an all out assault on them with the intent to injure.

Just like with words, "intent" is super important.

I was going to say, it probably hurt the coach more than the player.

I mean, I get it - shouldn't hit people, etc. But, eh.

I have a great joke here involving UNC, but I'm afraid Jordan Hudson would hunt me down and hurt me.

This year, the MAC is pretty bad. Usually there's 1-2 teams that are legit ok, but this ain't that year.

Local interest is high for BGSU though as former OSU RB and Heisman trophy winner, Eddie George is their new HC.

We've applied to join the Colonial Conference.

I don't think there's been 1-2 legit teams in a while.

Ya. You can't intend to hit your player out of anger!! A very similar slap on the pads occurs every time someone does something good. Hell, they might even get hit harder! It's the fact that he did it out of anger. You can't hit your players!

He didn't get the fine because he could have caused grievous bodily harm. He was fined cause you can't hit your players cause you are mad at them!

And also, who gets the money? I'd be like "He hit ME. Why don't I get the money?"

I have already started seeing articles about Belichick's job. We have too much media in this country. The guy has coached 5 games and this is the shit they write?

Fair point. None have been ranked since 2020. Oof. I remember years ago Toledo was undefeated and headed to the Shoe. This was in the BCS era, so 2000s or so? There was real buzz around the team and them making a statement on the national stage. They were expected to go undefeated in the MAC and make a big bowl game. They came in expecting to compete with OSU, but not win. 45-0 later and they ended up losing a few more games. OSU demoralized that team. It's tough when you actually experience how much better the real contenders are than your team.

Although, a few years later they did go to the big house and beat TTUN, so ha! They celebrated by selling shirts with the final score 13-10 for $13.10.

Please make this happen!

And Cake, let's just agree to disagree. It's a bullshit fine to appease the Karens of the world. Hitting a player's pads is not a dangerous act in any way.

There's a lot of noise in UNC twitterland about it, various program violations, etc.
