Eruption isn't nearly as hard as it sounds, according to my buddy, the guitar player. He's nowhere near virtuoso.
Drums, on Hot for Teacher? Not the easiest solo in the world, but he's six. He's got nothing better to do if he really wants to and he's got the access to the gear. When I was six, I had 2 or 3 events on the C64 version of Summer Games that I'd go toe-to-toe against the best in the world. Seriously, I could virtual platform dive the fuck out of anyone.

I think Eddie Van Halen could be the most overrated person in music history.

The drums, while good, weren't correct. His timing was off most of the time. Definitely REALLY good for a 6 year old, but not a replacement for the original.
Eruption. I've seen MANY people claiming to do it, but it never sounds right. They skip a ton of notes, thus making it easier. Again, TONS of talent, but not a copy of the original. So, either Eddie got lucky doing it when he did, or he's better than the copies.
Both kids are really good and are fun to watch. But again, not a replacement for the originals.
