edit - By "new music" I mean stuff that was released in 2012, not the copy of "Ozzy Osbourne - No More Tears" that you just finally got around to purchasing in November.

According to my mp3 tags that I sorted in Winamp, the following are the albums that I bought new in 2012:

The Devin Townsend Project - Epicloud
Epica - Requiem for the Indifferent
Kiss - Monster (which is just terrible...)
Madonna - MDNA

Maybe there's more, but the years didn't get filled in from the music database... I dunno.

Anyway, that's that.

Devin Townsend Project... have gotten through half the back catalog or so, and it is all excellent.

Madonna - MDNA.... delivers.

Epica.... not as good as the last album.

Kiss... I don't think they are trying anymore. You could at least detect effort in previous albums.

Peter, Bjorn, and John - Writer's Block - 3 good songs, rest meh.
Wacka Flocka Flame - Flockaveli - Couple OK songs, rest meh.

Though, curiously, neither of those were new in 2012. 2006 and 2010 respectively.

I fail at discovering new music.

Matt and Kim- Lightning - Several good songs, but not as strong as their earlier efforts. Actually from 2012. My kids love Matt and Kim. Got a signed CD + t-shirt from them when it came out.

What new music did you get in 2012?
