It was just a skill.
I had a bunch of skills in my cargohold (6 or 7) and wanted to load each one into my skills list to get them out of my cargohold. So I hit train and then immediately jumped to the next skill and did the same thing.
Well, one of the skills appeared in my list ready to train AND is still sitting in my cargo hold. I tried training it again and it told me that I can't train the same skill twice.
This could be worth big money if the skill that got duped was valuable enough.

So, are you suggesting that we dupe items instead of reporting the bug!?

The dupe occured on my work PC. I logged there and came home.
It's now close to 4 hours later and I've just logged on with my home PC.
Skill is still in my skill tree and the skill book is still in my cargo hold.
Dupe successful.

I'm reporting you and having you banned. Wonder if I'll get a reward or something. And, actually, I think I did the same thing before. Doing the same thing. Loading up a bunch of books. Tried to load one, it said can't train it twice. I figured I had bought it a second time by accident.

Moral of the story:
When training a high priced skill for the first time, train it and then IMMEDIATELY train another skill (have your item window open as you do this). It might take 1 or 2 other skills to "lag it" properly.
It's worth a shot. If you dupe it, then you can resell or pass it to someone else in TKV.
Consider some skills are million or hundreds of millions, I think the attempt is worth it.
