Not sure if this is true or not. But it's totally believable. Because the whole point of the shutdown is to show how awful the Rethuglicans are.

Boehner's boner. It's all his fault.

Odds of that being a coincidence?

Day 3.
In urging Boehner to call a vote on a bill without health care restrictions, Obama said the "one way out of this reckless and damaging Republican shutdown" is a spending plan "with no partisan strings attached."
...
Obama, who met with congressional leaders at the White House on Wednesday night, repeated his stance that he would not negotiate health care and budget issues until the government is reopened and the debt ceiling is raised.

I like how that site really tries to pretend like it's non-biased, yet every single story is anti-GOP and pro-Obama, while every single person commenting in their forum uses words like "Conz", "Repugs", etc. to describe Republicans, and blame absolutely everything on them.

Here's an original thought: We are on Day 4 of the government shutdown. If it ends tomorrow, will we be given back 4 days worth of taxes, since we didn't have any government for those days?

I know. Just one of those funny thoughts.

They're already passing a bill to make sure all furloughed employees get back pay... so yeah, that money comes from somewhere.

People are posting that this law will make healthcare costs go down
Peep1: "My husband has a pre-existing condition, and now we will have coverage for those expenses!"
Me: That doesnt mean the US will spend less on healthcare, it just means you will.
Peep2: Actually, people will have preventative coverage, and not go to ERs, so health care expenses will go down. That's one of the main benefits of this law.
Peep1: Like Peep1 said, spending will go down.
Me: $100 that healthcare spending goes up next year in the US.

Waiting for a response.

There isn't any possible way the costs won't increase with this law, as written. It has been obvious since the concept phase, the only people denying it are either ignorant or rooting for "their side."

Buddy of mine had to get crutches recently.

Health insurance way of getting them: five calls to four different call centers plus a few days of waiting.
Sane way of getting them: rent them at Walgreen's for $10, now.

I wonder how much those call centers cost to staff versus one associate sales clerk.

I've been hanging out in a lot of pharmacies lately.

Day in and day out, nearly every customer, "Sorry your insurance provider wont cover what your doctor prescribed. You're going to have to get back to your doctor and........." Or, "Sorry, but through your insurance that medication is going to cost you ($X in which X is usually greater than 100), do you still want it?" Usually the answer is no. Why do people have "insurance," again?

It is such a good thing Obama gave the insurance companies so many new customers by force, because they are certainly not what is wrong with the American medical system in the first place.

Total cost my "health insurance" has covered for chiro visits this year: $0. It is almost impossible for me to have them pay out a single cent unless I visit someone outside their network. I think they send some dudes to rough me up then.

I have to meet my deductible of $X dollars before they start chipping in. They will also only cover the first Y visits per year. Then they only apply about 50% of the chiro bills to the deductible then set X and Y so it's virtually impossible for them to have to pay anything.

The health plan I got from work was the least shitty option of the three I was given. Only one with a HSA.

The chick in charge of Obamacare is on Jon Stewart right now.

She seems really demoralized.

Jon just asked her, "Do you think I am stupid?"
