I assume you're being facetious. Because anybody who pays attention knows that it's not important what a politician says. What's important is which side he's on.
Father Guido could teach that to you in Five Minutes.

Talking head speaks some more.
President Barack Obama has said the credibility of the US, its Congress and the international community is on the line over their response to Syria's alleged use of chemical weapons.
What credibility? This is the same international community that thought Gangnam Style needed a billion YouTube views.

How is it Obama got elected, in part, on a platform of not "attacking countries that never attacked us," but now it is totally cool to do so and we all need to support our President?
Jon Stewart hit that point a bit last night, too. Tied what Obama is doing now very nicely to both Bush Jr and Bush Sr and their wars in the Middle East.
But he didn't put an answer to your question. Just asked it.

On my FB, the few people (left or right) talking about Syria are pretty much all talking about a) not doing it and b) the President has no plan.

I am in favor of stopping mass murder when we can, but I don't think we really can in this case. Not effectively, at least. The UN might be able to put something together, but that is unlikely as they are almost never effective just on general principle.

The US is awesome at toppling brutal dictators. We suck chlamydia-ridden donkey balls at stabilizing countries after doing that.
We sucked in Iraq, Afghanistan, and we'll suck in Syria, too, if we try. Anyone over there who's neither relatively insane or corrupt we want to give power to?

Iran will defend Syria "to the end".
This is essentially the world showing they have no respect for Obama.

President Hassan Rowhani said Iran will do "everything to prevent" an attack on the Syrian regime, according to extracts from statements he made before the Assembly of Experts published in the media.
Looks like the new boss is just as insane as the old boss.

Putin: John Kerry is lying.
Speaking to his human rights council Wednesday, Putin said, "This was very unpleasant and surprising for me. We talk to them (the Americans), and we assume they are decent people, but he is lying and he knows that he is lying. This is sad."

I just saw on the Twitters that Russia has compiled its own 100 page report detailing evidence that the Syrian rebels were behind the gas attack.
Quite honestly, Russia's position seems strong. Why would the government use gas on civilians in a war it's winning? Who would benefit from such an attack? The government or the rebels?
I think instead of randomly bombing, they should really investigate the issue and be 100% sure that the Syrian government was actually behind the attack.

To end it sooner.
Russia's position seems strong...
How do they prove which group launched the chems?

To end it sooner.
Why not use it on actual rebels then?
How do they prove which group launched the chems?
I don't know, wait to see their version.

Civies are easier targets. Maybe they were providing assistance. Maybe they just want to break any local public support for the rebels. Maybe they just wanted to call the bluff of the international community. They figure Egypt's getting away with shit, why not them?

Again, in a war they're winning, and knowing it could easily bring other countries into the fray and seriously damage their chances of winning? It makes no sense.
Things were far more dire early on, and they didn't use them then.
US State Department says Australia, Albania, Canada, Denmark, France, Kosovo, Poland, Romania and Turkey are on board with attack on Syria
That's from a news feed on Twitter.
Sounds like we're going it alone, huh? (wink wink nudge nudge)

Well, you gotta figure she's had the opportunity to dig up a lot of dirt on people, so he'll say whatever she wants him to.

Wow.
"I cannot remember a time when one faction of one party promises economic chaos if it can't get 100 percent of what it wants," Obama said Monday. "That's never happened before."
Really?
Obama reiterated his refusal to negotiate with Republicans over the debt ceiling. And he called on Congress to "pass a budget without drama."
Yep, never happened before or since.
