Yeah, I'm with the Elephants on this move. It's no secret certain media outlets hate them, so why continue to pretend it isn't true? Now those outlets won't have full stories and won't be able to pretend they aren't biased.

Sure, they'll claim they aren't, but they'll be doing it while reporting half of the story...

They don't have the first thing today, and they'll claim blamelessness on the second thing because the other dudes pulled out. If the pachyderms refuse to interact with those stations, then they've not got a lot of substance behind their accusations of bias from them. Of course they'll be biased, you fucking won't talk to them.

No one watches a TV news station to figure out things they don't know; that's what the internet is for and Google > CNN + NBC there. They watch TV news to confirm their own opinions.

But they are already biased to the point of twisting your words inside out when you DO talk to them. What's lost by treating them as hostile tabloids?

Any chance whatsoever to get on their good side. This is the road to "never, ever going to have a chance again." That's way worse than "maybe, someday given miraculous circumstances."

Maybe ctting them off would teach them they have to change their tune?

Can anyone honestly see any media outside of Fox News every reporting anything good about a republican, ever?

Not with the uncharismatic, blustery twonks they've currently got running things, no.

What if the president lied to us?

SRSLY, that's the headline. Or, as the tweet where I found it said: "A media liberal wrestles with that new and uncomfortable notion that politicians are observed, on occasion, to lie."

So many of President Obama's statements about NSA have been wrong. But he's too smart not to understand the truth.

Fucking wow.

Maybe Obama is just a time traveler? He can say we have no domestic spying program, and that's true. In space-time.

That article is fantastic. I can't believe an adult wrote that.

Hey, at least he's praying to an entity that actually exists. Seems like a step up to me.

This seems creepier. Deifying a thought/belief from your own brain seems less worrisome than doing it to a person.

I don't know, the God-King is a fairly common and well-known form of government. This democracy thing...not so much. Maybe it's an idea whose time has come.

Let me know when we get some of that in this country. We run on a weird mix of oligarchy and theocracy here.

Obama proves yet again, economics is not his strong point. Nor is education apparently.
A higher education is the single best investment you can make in your future," Obama told students in Buffalo...

Yeah, they should offer some of that in the American university system.

The average tuition cost at a four-year public college has increased by more than 250% over the past three decades, according to the White House. Meanwhile, incomes for typical families grew by 16%.

Gee, I wonder why.

Colleges would receive bonus money for the number of Pell Grant students who graduate.

As for the ever-growing levels of student debt, the plan calls for expansion of a "Pay As You Earn" program that would cap loan repayments at 10% of income.

The plan also says that colleges should offer a greater range of "affordable, high-quality options" that will generate competition with other colleges and drive down prices.

1. Bad: diplomas will be rubber stamped.
2. Bad: just keep your income low and\or under the table
3. Idiocy: perhaps he could provide details on this

Uncharmismatic, blustery twonk speaks.
We were astonished when we heard the comments that state Sen. Vicki Marble, R-Fort Collins, made Wednesday during a legislative hearing on poverty. Marble decided to share her thoughts on nutrition.
...
Marble went on to say how Mexicans eat healthy until they come to the United States.

Yeah. That's why they just took the coveted "Most Obese Nation" award from us.

EDIT: You'll notice the article's author has a problem with a different aspect of her words.

It won't make any difference.

Just yesterday someone was bragging about how of 49% of our Pell students who went to at least one counseling session go on to graduate, as opposed to only 8% of Pell students who don't go to any counseling sessions graduating. But I don't think that's because our counselors are good (quite the opposite), it's because the vast majority of Pell students are only here to get a check for as long as they can (usually only the one semester) and then leave. And those students don't go to counseling.

Damage control, part #435,785,411
Obama noted that people have “legitimate concerns” that the technology is moving faster than legislation and privacy protections in place.

“Do some of these systems end up being like a loaded gun out there that somebody at some future point could abuse? Because there are no allegations, and I am very confident -- knowing the NSA and how they operate - that purposefully somebody is out there trying to abuse this program or listen in on people’s e-mail,” Obama said.

So we're:
A) supposed to take your word for it?
B) forget that you recently asked China to stop hacking the fuck out of U.S. gov't machines?
