I was assuming that he meant that the little slot was for the tabs. It's one of those things not obvious by looking at it.

This. I've never known why a bottle opener had that extra slot.

3 stone? GODDAMN. That dog drew the short straw when it came to the dumb-asses that picked him out.
This. I've never known why a bottle opener had that extra slot.

Your drinking education obviously has some serious gaps.

The hidden extra downside is that Andrew is now sexually aroused by the dog as well. He sure didn't pick his wife for her intelligence or pretty face, so he must be into fat.

That's not because she's fat. That's because she's a bitch.

I've never needed a tool to open a can of beer.

I actually remember when you had to punch triangles on each side of the end of the can in order to drink a beer.

Also, those cans would rust.

I wasn't old enough to drink them, I was probably 5 years old or so, but I remember seeing them.

How would I remember? Let's see if google knows:

Hard to find, but here's where they talk about the history of the "church key" which they mention was used to open flat top beer cans.

Pull tops started being widely used in the mid-1960s. Either you are much older than I thought or someone was drinking some well-aged beer.
