McCain starts a slap fight with Rand Paul.
“That is really remarkable. That a senator blocking a treaty that is supported by the overwhelming number, perhaps 98 at least, of his colleagues, would come to the floor and object and walk away. And walk away. The only conclusion you can draw when he walks away is he has no argument to be made. He has no justification for his objection to having a small nation be part of NATO that is under assault from the Russians. So I repeat again: The senator from Kentucky is now working for Vladimir Putin.”
Emphasis isn't mine. His target was unwilling to be out-douched by John M. C. Cain, so the next morning America's answer to Dmitry Medvedev was heard to reply...
The next morning, Paul was on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” where he was asked by host Willie Geist about McCain’s comment.
Paul said: “You know, I think he makes a really, really strong case for term limits. I think maybe he’s past his prime; I think maybe he’s gotten a little bit unhinged.”

Supreme Court to rule on whether or not Wisconsin Republicans intentionally redrew districts to fuck over their opponents.
Last year a federal court found that Wisconsin's congressional districts, created by the state's Republican lawmakers and signed into law by Gov. Scott Walker (R), were unconstitutionally drawn to disadvantage Democratic voters.
...
Here's the thing, though: political gerrymandering is largely a question of intent. You can draw some outrageously unfair districts and then contend that you didn't mean to. That any apparent partisan imbalance is purely an accident, or because of forces outside your control.
That's what Wisconsin Republicans have pleaded before the courts. They've said that the geography of the state's population disadvantages Democrats in a way that can't be helped: Democrats tend to cluster in big cities such as Milwaukee and Madison. That makes it harder for people drawing districts to avoid either splitting them up or packing them all together.
We're now bitching about the fairness of geography and population clusters in the highest court in the land. Goddamnit.

Steve King wants to take from the poor to build a wall.
So he wants to take money he thinks is wasted or abused and put it into a grossly expensive project that has already been proven multiple times by multiple sources to be a huge waste of money? Brilliant!
Dumb statements like this are why the Republicans have such a PR problem.

Wow.
When I read this headline yesterday, I didn't bother reading the article. In my head, it was Stephen King (writer) making a satirical comment about Republican politics and priorities.

Pffft... I just look at the job they're doing on the promised repeal of Obamacare and I'm not worries about this. Don't get me wrong, regardless of what happens with this proposal the government will waste a shit ton of our money. Meanwhile, McConnell is now telling Republicans to go ahead and vote for latest senate bill with the Medicade cuts because they'll never implement those cuts anyway.

Because nothing else of consequence has been going on in the world,
Senator Collins calling another Republican unattractive has been a top story in Facebook's opinion for a day and a half now.
Thing is, she's not wrong...
That is one insanely unattractive human being.
And hey, while we're talking Republicans, why does it make sense to repeal something that gives millions of people health care without having a replacement in place first?
It's like being in a boat with them in the middle of the Atlantic. A conversation could start about what to do if the boat sinks, and they immediately drill holes in the hull and then say, "Ok, now let's talk about it."

Dude... the "covfefe" typo was a CNN headline for three days straight. There isn't anything too dumb and unimportant on which to focus our hatred, because Our Side is the best. Every smart person knows it.
The only replacement we need for so-called health insurance is to scrap it all. It's all a subsidy program at this point, and those always, always screw up market pricing. Just look at the cost of college.

I could buy that argument if no one had health insurance prior to 2010. But the fact is, most people that wanted insurance had it and they were paying a shit ton less than they are today. The MSM will likely never run the numbers, but I promise there are more people hurt than helped by this program. I know our rates went up and our deductible is $3K now. This is my wife's insurance and she works in a hospital, so you'd think their costs are going to be about as low as you can go. Prior to the ACA, the premium was lower and no deductible (only a copay) for in network care.
They took a look at the CBO numbers and when you exclude the people that would voluntarily opt out of insurance, their number of "people that would lose insurance" drops dramatically.
I forget who it was, but a captain a few centuries back when they landed (I think it was here in the Americas) burned their ships so as to ensure everyone was working towards making the new settlement work. And it worked. Everyone was committed with no ride back to their old home. I think the first step for that would be to ensure they have to use the same system they impose on the rest of us.

West Virginia's governor is switching to the elephants.
Cue all the people who will bitch and moan that this isn't who they voted for and he should resign. All they're doing is admitting they vote for a letter and not the person or their agenda.

I saw that last night on his "Liked" twitter feed. I died.
He also liked something PFT commenter posted, so I wasn't sure if it was a hack or not. Guess it was just some intern who liked Barstool and porn?

Thanks to Ted Cruz the people who own this video have made the full thing available free.
You can find the link on PornHub's Twitter.
Best quote I've seen on this "scandal":
I love that Ted Cruz has given us the most feel good story of the year via incest on 9/11. Hard to pull off.

I agree. We heard more about this than we did about the Dem Mayor of Seattle resigning for accusations of molesting underage boys.
