It's not the reality, it's the perception. "Everyone knows" republicans are evil, racist obstructionists, and democrats want errybody to have free medical care and abortions and birth control and they dont got to pay their mortgage no more and all the mexicans get to come be americans and get on welfare for free.
"I don't like anything Obama has done, but I could never vote for a republican so I got to vote for Obama again."
~ most democrats I knew in 2008.
I know y'all disagree, but in my opinion "Free Candy" is the rule for the foreseeable future.

I think a lot of people would be happy to turn down the free candy (the majority knows it won't last even as they take their piece of it) if they had an option that didn't come with medieval policies on social freedoms stuck onto it.
Until they give up the anti-gay stuff, Republicans will not win another Presidency.

Agreed.
It isn't that they disagree with gay marriage, it's that they spew hate so violently at the idea.
Republicans need to separate themselves from the church. Those people are NOT going to vote Democrat under any circumstance, so stop coddling them.
Start coddling the independents and right leaning Democrats by reversing course on social stances.
In the New 52, one of the titles that was relaunched was Aquaman who is a pop culture joke. Geoff Johns was assigned as the writer, and immediately turned fucking Aquaman into one the hottest and coolest characters.
How?
He immediately acknowledge the joke on the pages, and played into it. He wasn't apologetic about it, and basically said, "yeah, but here's what I'm really about." (Seriously, if you haven't read it, and even if you aren't a fan of comics you know Aquaman, pick up the New 52 Aquaman issue #1 and check it out.)
The Republicans need to do the same thing.

The country is ripe for libertarianism to take over. The party can't get traction because the game is rigged against third parties, but I think the Republicans are setting themselves up to be taken over entirely by libertarians. We'll see a complete change in GOP leadership moving in this direction after the Dems put President Biden into the white house in 2016.
The church crowd will scream bloody murder, but no one will listen to them. As you say, what are they going to do vote Democrat? Hardly.

Libertarians will have to overcome the very wide-spread, a water-tight, NARRATIVE that they are also evil, racist, etc. Only think a liberal hates more than a republican is a Tea Partier.

"I don't like anything Obama has done, but I could never vote for a republican so I got to vote for Obama again."
That's more of a slam on the Republicans for not offering anything remotely close to a reasonable alternative.
Republicans need to separate themselves from the church.
They're too stubborn and stupid to do that, even to yank their party back from the brink of non-relevance. They exist only to provide comic relief now.
In the New 52, one of the titles that was relaunched was Aquaman who is a pop culture joke.
Aquaman was slightly less hopeless than the current Republican party.
...but I think the Republicans are setting themselves up to be taken over entirely by libertarians.
See the quote about being stubborn and stupid. They had a chance to pick a real candidate this most recent prez election. Instead they picked Romney. Mitt. Fucking. Romney. That was the best idea they had. I think his VP was the cricket that chirped in the background after he got done talking.

Obamacare has just been delayed until 2015. I've seen several places mention it.

Thought we had a blurb about that yesterday.

1. Presidents now have the power to overturn laws just because they say so.
2. This puts Obamacare clusterfucking/job killing until after the 2014 elections.

Obama's NLRB appointments deemed unconstitutional and illegal. NLRB plows ahead, anyway, because fuck you, that's why.
The role of Congress is to ensure a balanced NLRB and the Obama Administration bypassed Congress in order to stack the NLRB in favor of Big Labor. Two different federal courts -- the D.C. Circuit and the Third Circuit -- have established that the NLRB is illegally constituted and has no authority to take action.

It's okay, Obama was a constitutional law professor, so he couldn't be wrong about that.

The crux of the suit here is whether the executive branch can function without any accountability.
If you bastardize the meanings of both "function" and "accountability," then yes. It's been lacking in both of those since at least post-WWII, which I consider the true birth of bureaucratic insanity in the modern U.S. system.

France apologizes.
France has apologised to Bolivia for refusing to allow President Evo Morales' jet into its airspace, blaming "conflicting information".
Obama on the phone to Hollande: Hey, stop that plane.
Hollande: Uh, I don't think I've got any legal justification to...
Obama: I won the Nobel Peace Prize, goddamnit. I'm giving you the authority.

How to abuse the new health care law. Anyone remember when the donkeys said that taking away the part of the law they just recently took away would be "unthinkable" and "gutting Obamacare?"

Checks and balances? Fuck those.
Under Obama’s proposal, presidents would have the ability to get up-or-down votes within 90 days in the House and Senate on legislation consolidating and reorganizing parts of the federal government.
That would bypass committees and limit individual lawmakers’ ability to kill provisions they don’t like or that hurt their districts.
In other news, Amanda Bynes thinks the Obamas are "ugly." She's also gone Britney Spears circa 2009 insane.
