This story paints one man's opinion as actual fact. I'm 99% certain that even the cop with his knee on Floyd's neck didn't intend to kill him.

Moral of the story: Never question a black person's right to be anywhere or do anything.

Christian Cooper agrees with me that cancel culture is not how you solve racism.

The most interesting part of this story, imho, is how people immediately attacked her saying she was trying to use the police to attack this man, and could have put his life in harm's way. Meanwhile, NONE of those people see the hypocrisy in him posting this video and putting her in harm's way. She's lost everything and gotten death threats.

They're both named Cooper? Now I think this is all part of a serious rivalry between competing barrel makers.

I've got all the political people blocked on my FB feed, but the other day one slipped through.

A relative of mine, a hardcore liberal (who ordinarily keeps it to herself), posted an article about "Turns out the Central Park racist chick was liberal. What does this mean?" And she, and another relative of mine who are super-vocal anti-Trumpers, were pontificating about the disturbing meaning of it.

I wanted to tell them "the reason you're feeling uncomfortable is that you have a hard-wired bias that only conservatives are evil. This incident proves not only is that incorrect, but that there are people flying your flag that are just as evil as the people on the Other Side. It can be frightening to have your illusion of the world shattered, but I trust in your cognitive dissonance to put it behind you soon, and keep powering forward in the fight against the Fascists."

But I didn't say any of that, because people don't change, and there's no point.

Sadly, this is true and why I only feel comfortable voicing stuff here or to my wife.

And yes, there are people saying the rioting and looting was started by 6 white guys. Not just any white guys, but undercover cops.

It's impossible to have rational conversations with this level of crazy.

People are angry.

Hey, how many dead civilians last night? Weird that these violent fascists didn't just open fire on the crowd. Also weird that this peaceful protest involved looting a Target and a hair salon. (Yes, here in Toledo.)

The peaceful protest I witnessed (and supported) was on Secor earlier in the day. Nothing thrown or looted. Cops present and not in riot gear. Broke up peacefully. Just the strangest thing. Almost like that was a peaceful protest, and the other one wasn't. Maybe I need to look up peaceful in the dictionary?

Also in our area. Someone should run up and hit him in the head, right?

Whatever. Keep on rooting for innocent cops to die and blame them for all the ills of society. I'll never change your mind.

I'll just keep hoping this shit ends before it gets worse and that small business owners, like both of our parents, don't have to wake up to rubble thanks to something they had nothing to do with.

Looting + shit in our downtown (Raleigh) last night. And they are back out tonight, but not breaking shit up yet. Watched some of it on live news.

FYI, a cop was killed in Oakland this weekend by protesters (let's be honest, they people doing the violent shit aren't protesters). He was black. Weirdly, it's not on CNN's front page coverage.
