Which candidate is spewing nonsense and fear to get votes again? I keep forgetting. Which one is pandering? Which one is worse?
This is all so confusing.
And at a time Benghazi mom was making her impact, Trump couldn't help but step on his dick and call into Fox News so they would break away from her to cover his phone call.

Utah's 40 GOP delegate votes go to Trump, not Cruz
Definitely leaving the Republican party. Original plan was to vote Republican down ballot and third party or abstain in the Presidential election. Now thinking I will likely just stay home entirely. Getting really close to a Holy War on the GOP and voting Democrat.

Former Utah Congresswoman Enid Greene Mickelsen, the chairwoman of the convention's rules committee, said she found out about the rule Tuesday and had to ask the national party's counsel about it.
Way to stay on top of things.

Mike Lee (one of the brightest in the Senate for what that's worth) even said it's a very obscure rule. This was retaliation for trying to get the rules changed so in 2020 someone with barely 40% party support (and questionable credentials) doesn't get the nomination. The party leaders will not be challenged or questioned. Remember when Trump had the polling numbers for Indiana and new he had the nomination but had to come out and attack Ted's dad as a conspirator in JFKs assassination? This was that exact sort of petty and vile shit.

C'mon man, that was in the Enquirer, it has to be true.

Rick Santorum slimes his way out from under the shit-covered rock where he lives to politically blackmail Iowans to vote for an abject retard.
“I know Iowa can go for Trump, but he’s going to need the Republican Party united,” he said. “And it’s not. Be honest. It’s not. Your own delegation, it’s not. But it’s over. After yesterday, it’s over. It’s now understanding what’s at stake. It’s a binary choice. It is time to save this republic and Iowa is on the front line. You have no excuse.”
NO EXCUSE, motherfucker. Exercise your freedom to vote exactly the way Rick Santorum tells you.
On the other hand, they
think they're doing great with the Latino vote.
In general terms, Hispanics weren't spoken of badly, according to Helen Aguirre Ferre, head of the Republican National Committee for Hispanic media, although, she told a press conference on Tuesday, the day's speeches showed how complex the subject of immigration really is.
...
At a parallel event organized by the National Hispanic Leadership Agenda, the executive director of the League of United Latin American Citizens, Brent Wilkes, considered the focus of the first day of the Republican National Convention "offensive and racist."
Nothing gets a demographic on your side like calling large portions of them thieves and rapists.

Seeing as the pachyderms think they're doing great on the Latino front, let's swing to how they're trying to
win over the women.
Trump has called comedian Rosie O’Donnell “disgusting” with a “fat pig face” and Arianna Huffington “ugly inside and out.” He asserted supermodel Heidi Klum is “no longer a 10.” He said Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly had “blood coming out of her wherever.” He threatened to “spill the beans” on former rival Ted Cruz’s wife, Heidi, while retweeting an unflattering picture of her. Last week, he attacked the sanity of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, widely hailed as a feminist icon, claiming her “mind is shot.”
...
Female supporters also seem scarce on the ground. At the Republican National Convention this week, the “Women Vote Trump” event appeared nearly empty, according to photos reporters shared on Twitter. “The crowd is so small,” one attendee tweeted, “the panel are asking themselves most of the questions.”
...
National polls persistently reveal a dearth of support for Trump among half the nation’s voters. All year long, at least 65 percent of women surveyed in The Washington Post-ABC polls have reported holding an “unfavorable” view of the Republican candidate. The most recent share, released last week, stands at 69 percent, compared to 59 percent of men.

Cruz: "Vote for the candidate that believes in freedom and the Constitution."
Trump idiots: "OMG! He just completely dissed Trump! What a traitor that will never win anything ever again!"
I don't think these guys realize the damage they're doing to themselves throwing this fit. Watch for Trump to implode for about a week because this sort of stress brings out his tourettes.

I just saw the clip of Ben Carson going, "Hillary studied in college under a guy who has a dedication to Lucifer in one of his books -- one of Hillary's favorite books. Do we want someone to be president who owns a book with a dedication to Satan?" Her having a book with one of the most metal dedications you can pen might literally be the only thing I don't hate her for.

This was all just a political poker move by Cruz, he's banking on Trump losing in the general election and if he does then Cruz becomes top dog in the republican party. If Trump wins.. well Cruz's all in move will have backfired and he will fall by the wayside as Trump assumes the power as president.
Trump tweeted that he knew this was coming when he rehearsed his speech two hours before the convention started. Its no coincidence that Trump happened to walk into the room at the end of Cruz's speech just to steal his thunder.

Not only did Trump and his people know, but Manafort had his people out whipping up the boos. There is a lot to unpack here.
I agree that this is a calculated rick. But not only will this have an upside if Trump loses, it will also have an upside if Trump wins and sucks really bad. Combined, the odds of this being bad long term are slim. If Trump wins and he literally flips his approval numbers and is the face of the new Republican party, then Cruz isn't going to have a future in that with or without an endorsement.
All the cries from politicians are coming for those that have already hitched their wagon to the anchor of the Titanic (seriously mixing some metaphors here). They know when this thing goes down, the few that didn't fold are the ones with a leg up next time by default. And they know this is going to go down. And all his supporters in that hall know it's going to go down and they just broadcasted it to the rest of the world. When a guy says to vote for the candidate that supports freedom and the Constitution and vote your conscious and you boo him, you've just shouted out to the world that you don't believe this about your own candidate. You also see that the only politico close to Cruz in intelligence is Newt Gingrich (though I don't care much for him) and he figured it out. After the speech, Newt said, "Vote for the pro freedom and pro Constitution guy? Obviously that's Trump!"
He was the ONLY pro Trump guy that didn't out himself as a heretic.
People are saying that he'll be blamed if Trump loses? The general is over three months away. Trump can't go three GAYS without stepping on his own dick When he's on a roll, even three hours. I was watching a clip the other day from one of the debates where Trump was talking about executing the families of terrorists and bringing back worse torture than waterboarding and the military WILL follow those illegal orders and I though, Wow! I'd forgotten all about this dumbassery. The dumpster fire will continue and this will be a distant memory as far as causes for the fail that's coming.
I will state that the one thing that could swing this the other way would be a huge (YUGE) domestic terrorist attack rivaling Sept 11th in scope. Then all bets are off. Otherwise get used to hearing "Madame President".

Paging Dr. Freud. Dr. Freud to the operating theater please.
If Trump wins the general, before the next election cycle Cruz and friends will have started a new third party and will be in a position to leverage out the Republicans entirely. Unless Trump turns out to be a stellar President, but there's no way that could happen.
If Trump loses the general, Cruz is positioned to take over the Republicans directly.
It's no lose for Cruz.

I wouldn't bet on it. Cruz couldn't stop Trump's bid to take over. The loony base that elected the dude who got miffed when Martha Stewart did a spin-off of his show has proclaimed the standard, garden variety right-wing candidate can go fuck himself. They aren't going to be remorseful. They'll be twice as retarded as before.
"Our problem is we didn't elect a nominee who's extreme enough."

I'm LOLing over the "GAYS" slip.
But everything last night was a perfect example. If they had just let Ted speak and applauded and said at the end, "Yup! I, Donald J Trump, am the freedom and Constitution candidate!" it would have been simply seen as a face saving soft endorsement by Cruz and the story would have been Mike Pence as the relatively unknown VP pick. Instead he chose to alienate conservatives. Stepped on his dick.

Speaking of dumpster fires...
Sarah Palin lambasted Ted Cruz’s failure to endorse Republican nominee Donald Trump as “one of those career-ending ‘read my lips’ moments,” the former Alaska governor and vice presidential candidate said in a statement to Breitbart.
Yeah, if there's anyone who knows about ending a career, it's Sarah Palin.
Ah well, at least the party's
holding together.
Republican senators blasted Donald Trump on Thursday for suggesting he would not defend NATO allies if they are attacked, a core purpose of the transatlantic alliance.
“Statements like these make the world more dangerous and the United States less safe," said Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), himself a former Republican presidential candidate.
Here's Trump discussing his foreign policy in about as much detail as I've seen anywhere, meaning not a hell of a lot.
SANGER: Since your time is limited, let me ask you about Russia. You’ve been very complimentary of Putin himself.
TRUMP: No! No, I haven’t.
SANGER: You said you respected his strength.
TRUMP: He’s been complimentary of me. I think Putin and I will get along very well.
I'll let that last sentence stand on its own.

I was laughing at the Palin thing as well.
I am a bit perplexed at how important the Cruz GOP pledge supposedly is, but the NATO treaty (a pledge) is meh, even if that might trigger a world war by backing away from it.

The Trump followers do have a solid point about that "pledge" they forced Trump to sign. They wanted his assurance he would support whatever candidate won, because they didn't think it would be him, and that he wouldn't run as an independent. Now that he's won, they've mostly all backed out of the pledge.
Right now only Trump people are discussing it, but you're crazy if you think people they'll run against in the future won't bring it up as well. "He lied to his own party!"
