Koban is now wearing studded leather armor with the Fire____ crest, he still has a short sword with that crest, and he still has his old leather armor.

I legit would have no issue if the party decided to go back later and kill that shop killer. At this point, I'm really annoyed that we basically can't sell anything we get without being ripped off. Well done Troy. That was good role playing.

We need to find the gypsies.

That's after selling the wheels (15pl each) and the spear and shield (6pl).
I have two healing potions
I will take that and it's super helpful, thank you.

Current party fortune:
309 GOLD
2 RUBY
1 TOPAZ
2 GARNET GOBLETS
75 PLATINUM

Loot related to today:
200 gold inside a sack in a dwarven chest.
30 Platinum for selling wheels to Ismark
Cask of dwarven beer

BeeDee:
+ Flask of Holy Water
- Donavich's bar tab

Alex:
+ healing potion

Zelda:
+ Loaf of spooky table bread
+ 1 White Opal with eye marks

Mordigan:
+1 Dream Pastry (1p)
+1 White Opal with eye marks

Koban:
+ Fireforge Studded Leather Armor

- Dwarven Spear
- Dwarven Shield
- 2 silverware

Bildrath Store bans.

Zelda
Koban
Mordigan

I think?

Go ahead and make PC choices for Level 3. Unless you die horribly early in the Durst Crypt, you'll level up next session.

Since the gypsies deal in gold (or that's what it seemed like to me), I doubt we'll do much better with them.

Plus, we have 117 plat after just a few small scrapes. I don't think he was that much over priced. Holy water was expensive, but, I'm surprised he's allowed to sell that at all.

And that's before we sell the gem type loot.

I forgot to subtract the 1gp Gordon paid for the holy water.

The 117 plat is converting all liquid cash into platinum.

This sounds about right. I was tracking all the gold and plat we came across for myself (assuming we were splitting it all up) and I'm at 24 Plat and 50 Gold.

By the way, that wasn't snark. I was genuinely impressed. Three of us left the shop in frustration, so you evoked an emotional reaction.

Hey thanks! I've had time to flesh out Bildrath, since I started getting his identity figured out early in case you went into the shop. I've been dying to bust him out. I even sent Catt (forum Catt) a message asking him about economic conditions in a valley cut off from the rest of the world.

He's no "Deals Warlock", but I think he's a keeper.

His alignment is the polar opposite of Koban and Zelda's - so I think you guys played your characters well too. He would have seemed particularly abrasive to you.

The paladin was stuck between trying to be a good guy, and whether or not.he deserved to have his rudeness corrected.

Also have been contemplating the economic model, here.... Things seem expensive to us... 350 gold for a flask of.holy water.that takes one hour and a little silver to produce? That's like $5k in real world prices. Nonsense.

Then I remembered we are finding loose gold left and right, so the accustomed scarcity just doesn't exist in this world. It's a mental adjustment.

A cool thing to check out if you want some more D&D content this weekend is HarmonQuest - an animated/live show style series. Short 25 minute RP sessions, animated in post. It's super good and moves fast. It's clearly for entertainment purposes and they get some form of a script ahead of time, but it's glorious. The goblin is the best - the guy is an absolute machine and never stops poking his head in shit.

The show has guest characters each episode. You'll know a lot of them. Most have never played D&D before, but are actors - so they are good at it. Episode 5 of Season 1 is Aubrey Plaza. Yes, that one.

UH, I missed this, shit.

But sounds like you nailed it. That's a pretty big barrier to entry, so the shopkeeper should be very monopolistic (high prices, shitty attitude).

So far, the order of operations seems to be this:

1. Clear crypts.
2. Clear church, finish holy quest. Do my paladin upgrade things.
3. Clear windmill, save kids.
4. Then, turn our eyes to Ravenloft Castle.

Unless some new side quest happens before the castle. We'll want to be max levels before we knock on that door.

I'm guessing the castle is many many sessions away and there's a lot to do before that. Based on Troy's estimate of 30-40 hours of play.

Cool, i've been looking forward to finally getting to level 3. For BeeDee, Koban and I we will need to make big choices as to the direction we will be taking in our respected class.

I will be going the route of the Battlemaster Fighter, which will give me 3 different combat maneuvers like trips, disarms and riposte and also adds a 1d8 to my damage rolls.

Looks like Koban will have to chose between the Thief, Assassin and Arcane Trickster.

And BeeDee will need to chose his sacred oath so either the Oath of Devotion, Oath of the Ancients or Oath of Vengeance.

Have you guys given any thought as to which route you will be taking?

So are we to expect another shopkeeper in the future featuring TheCatt?

Maybe another asshole shopkeeper that pisses off the whole party?

I think Troy offered me the NPC stuff, but it'd be hard to coordinate when to jump in.

Until that shopkeeper sells something he "needs", Koban will be saving his platinum for the next campaign. :D

Agreed.

I have looked a bit, but not in depth. I guess I should do that this week.

I hope the next asshole is someone we can hit.

Oh we could've hit him, but i'm sure he would have hit that button below his desk and called all the city guards on us. Come to think of it, does that shit hole town even have city guards? He said he works for the darklord, maybe he would have called some vampire spawns?

Also, i found it pretty entertaining that it wasn't me the loose cannon, easily angered fighter that didn't pull his sword on the shopkeeper, it was Koban! LOL.

I really feel like, "The opals have eyes drawn on them" was something that should have been described when they were found. :-D
