1) I can think of any number of ways to rig that test, but even if pretty much everything is legit, there's almost no way to avoid that result.

2) The most glaring flaw is his technique is that he's WAAAAAAAAY too low on his blade for that strike.

3) He's also hitting a fixed, heavier blade with what could be a shitty katana copy.

Broadswords are made for hacking and bashing but katanas were not.

The Mythbusters couldn't get a real katana to slice a sword, and they used robots.
