The Nobel Peace Prize Committee should frame a copy of the DOJ assassination white paper and then hang it on its wall.

U.S. health care officially shittier than Croatian system.
Nora needed to join an experimental treatment program at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The family had initially received a bill for $575,000 for the treatment process -- and then was surprised to receive another $262,000 bill for follow-up costs for the next five years, according to the paper.

Those evil, evil greedy bastards.
"As you no shame to take that kind of money ($ 837,224) from a sick child ... how can you be so cruel????!!??????? Shame on you!!!!!! N O R A!!!!!!!!!!!" Davor Marsal Androcec wrote.

Then again, compared to stupid, "greedy" doesn't seem that bad.
After going through this, I will never say anything against our (Croatia's socialized) health system. What they have over there (in the United States) is just terrible.

K, then why doesn't Crotia offer the experimental therapy that may have just saved your daughter's life? Oh yeah, because their bloated Jabba the Hutt of a socialist death trap health care system can't afford the R+D costs.

The Social Security Administration just bought 174k rounds of ammo.

The official explanation for the ammunition is preparation for the possibility of civil unrest during a national emergency, such as a natural disaster, a terrorist attack, or a complete economic collapse.
...
The agencies have purchased hollow point bullets which are designed to expand once they enter their target in order to do the most damage to the victim.

Weird, I could swear the Bloods and Crips prepare for the possibility of civil unrest in the same way.

EDIT:
Back in March, Homeland Security purchased 450 million rounds of .40-caliber hollow point bullets that are designed to expand upon entry and cause maximum organ damage, prompting questions as to why the DHS needed such a large amount of powerful bullets merely for training purposes.

This was followed by another DHS solicitation asking for a further 750 million rounds of assorted bullets, including 357 mag rounds that are able to penetrate walls.

Christ. Good thing they got funding for all these bullets. Clearly they're trying to corner the market and keep bullets out of the hands of criminals, also know as "anyone in the U.S. that doesn't work directly for the feds."

Leave aside the breathless journo-crap about "designed to cause maximum organ damage." Hollow-points are the defacto round for handguns. I suppose our armed forces are still not allowed to use them, because of 100-year old prejudices, but regular Joes use them almost exclusively.

THAT SAID...I'm surprised that they're actually saying it's for "civil unrest."

Not sure what to make of this
Take a close look at the M-14 rifles the Marines where carrying at Obama’s second inauguration. The bolts have been removed from the rifles rendering them unable to fire a round.

I guess I always assumed the drill teams use "fake" rifles anyway.

While Obama's order made no mention of merit for such a raise, HuffPost's Amanda Terkel reported on Friday that the 112th Congress is set to end the session as the most unproductive since the 1940s, with only 219 bills passed by the body becoming law.

Still too many. And fuck the prez. Must be nice to sign your own pay rise.

Pentagon bitches about having to take cuts. Yeah, the other businesses and citizens in this country don't know what that's like. The five-sided building is apparently staffed by self-righteous assholes with an entitlement complex.

Taxes and how welfare screws those on it.
Dan Shaviro of NYU published a study in 1999 showing marginal tax rates above 100% on the working poor; specifically, he illustrated that a single parent earning $10,000 would lose over $2,500, after taxes, by earning another $15,000, pushing her income to $25,000.

You might be thinking that losing a benefit is not a tax. That is an understandable sentiment, but Jane will not be comforted by it.

So? That doesn't change the fact that there are only two solutions: 1) give everyone those tax breaks no matter how much they make, which would be impossible to pay for, or 2) stop giving out money to people for being poor. Which one are you (the author of the article) trying to propose here?

The even more puzzling bit is why he goes on the marriage rant at the end, although I've often heard political talking heads bitch about the "dissolution or extinction of the family unit" at level near, at, or below poverty.

John Kerry proves he doesn't understand economics. Or gov't in general.
“Unfortunately, the State Department doesn’t have our own Grover Norquist pushing a pledge to protect it,” Kerry said at the University of Virginia, in Charlottesville. He added that State, unlike interest groups such as AARP, lacks millions of dues-paying members who unite to rally behind it.

John, you already have millions of dues-paying members, they're called citizens. They fucking hate you and all your friends. They don't like you taking more of their money.

As he made his case for the State Department on Wednesday, Kerry told students and faculty at U-Va. that “deploying diplomats today is much cheaper than deploying troops tomorrow; we need to remember that.”

Another reason why they hate you is because you're a retarded fuckwit that's more ready to bend over than a wannabe porn starlet. Tell me how your diplomacy is toppling the North Korean and Iranian regimes.
