$5 gets you 650 RP and $20 gets you 2800. The 13k, when bought in bulk, would cost about $85. $50 for 7200 and $35 for 5000.
So, 1RP per $3 spent is a HORRIBLE return. But, 13k for the $25 I put on the card and then spend is free.

Spend that money - Free

But, there is one catch. You get a minimum of 1RP for using the card. So, you could buy a pack of gum for $.50 and get one RP for it. So, you could increase your return by doing hundreds of micro transactions.

From my understanding you only get the 10k RP with a direct deposit only, meaning that you can't just put money on it from your bank. I've read a couple of different comments on this on the LOL forums and some people are saying it needs to be from your employer, but im not sure if thats true. Can you guys confirm this? cause i'm not going to have my employer change my direct deposit for some RP.

It says right in the marketing that the 10k bonus is for direct deposit. Direct deposit gets setup from sources of income, so yes, your employer.
"Just go to your payroll lady and say the following:
I want to set aside some money for Christmas. Can you please setup a direct deposit of $20 (or whatever) from all future checks so that it goes to this card?"
Then cancel the direct deposit and/or the card whenever you want.

Ahhh... thats crap. The lady that does our payroll is a lazy fat slob and she would just bitch and moan if she had to do something out of the ordinary. When i asked her about splitting up my paycheck into two different accounts a while back she acted like i was asking for her first born. I'd just prefer not to even deal with it then.

Once you sign up, you'll have access to the Serve.com site. Within, you'll find a simple form to fill out that will handle the issue for you. Print it. Check mark a box, add an amount, sign it, and hand it to your payroll.
She can't complain because it's her job. If she does, see her supervisor. After Christmas, cancel the DD and the card.
Done.
I just turned my form in and it took my payroll lady about 20 seconds to enter in the information.

Be sure to cancel the DD, give it a month or two to make sure it actually stops, THEN close the Amex account.
I used to do payroll for my battalion in the Marines and that was a common mistake. Fucktards change and close their old account to something local before the DD has had time to process and switch over... then their funds end up in limbo.

But haven't you heard? Valve keeps telling us that DOTA2 has better numbers than LOL.
Judging by the number of DOTA2 articles I have seen in PC Gamer for the last few months, I have no reason to believe Valve is giving them money.

I do my own payroll, so it's easy for me to do a single direct deposit.
Also, no need to "cancel" the card. It's prepaid, not a credit card. Just stop putting money on it.
