STranger and I played some ARAMs last night with one or two others, and a hitler or 2.
One hitler had the really good wisdom of getting mad and telling us to dodge Nidalee's spears, so he was awesome.
I had Sion twice in a row, randomly. So now I know how much I suck at Sion.
TKV is doing much better at 5v5 since I have been away, going up at least 2 ranks, so now we know I was holding back the team. I am not considered to be an essential element of the 3v3 team, so I don't care about that any more, either. No one gives a shit if you suck in ARAM, so that's the game for me. As soon as someone on the TKV rolls rides my ass for not playing some random champ correctly in ARAM, and I doubt it will be long before that happens, I will probably quit the game entirely, only turning it on to play some custom games with my kid from time to time.

On a somewhat related note, I decided that I don't really like playing with high school kids. I'm too old to put up with that shit. I know we wanted to fill the ranks, but it just isn't fun for me because I don't have the patience to deal with them. And I don't want to have the patience. Because I am too old for that shit.
I love the fact I have been playing the game since they were in junior high, gaming online since they were in kindergarten, and computer gaming in general since before they were born, and they still tell me that I should look into Flash because it is much better, or some other really basic thing. I can't tell them to go fuck themselves because you guys want them on the team, and it could loosely be interpreted as child abuse. I just dont have the patience any more. Sorry.

Some of them are better than all of us and have good advice that we should follow.
About a year and a half ago, I always took ghost instead of flash until you all told me flash was better. Even though I still thought ghost was better and could explain a good sounding reason why. But, I tried ghost anyways. I found that it is better than ghost. I used to take Zonya's on Sej because it let me initiate and live a little bit longer soaking up more damage. Sometimes it let me escape the fight even. But someone questioned why I took it and made a suggestion for another item. When I took a look at the math, I found that I actually was better off with the other item and now I take that one. It also opened my eyes to something very obvious, and I change my build order now too. Sometimes the highschoolers who have more time to play more games and read more websites and watch more pro matches actually have valuable things to say that us old timers should listen to.
I don't think we are doing better because you aren't playing. I think it's because we've recruited an uber mid that decimates the other teams.
Rifle, who is by far the best person on our team, offered to leave a game and duo queue with cognito, who is by far the worst person on our team for two reasons.
1. To coach cognito and help him improve.
2. So that Leisher and I could play on the 5v5 team because when we logged on at the same time, we had 7 people on the team.
Cognito volunteered to step down because he knew he was the weakest link. And he said no one had to duo with him because he didn't want to drag them down. Rifle offered to go with him for the reasons above.
Yes, they are highschoolers, but they also understand teamwork and sportsmanship.
We have been riding you for years about the game. When the new kids started doing that, you didn't like it. I understand that. They haven't earned the right to banter with you the way we can. Tell them to shut the fuck up then. I doubt that will make them leave the team. If it does, good riddance because I want people with thicker skins on my team. At that same time, don't think that everything someone says, or any advice someone gives is just being a dick to you and doesn't deserve to be listened to because you've been gaming since before they were born. It's a new game. A new generation of gamers. They have skills and can be intelligent. Cut them some slack.
Lastly, if you want a private team that only we play on, then lets do that. I REALLY didn't know TT was that sacred to you. We've been in and out of promo series a number of times. I didn't know this promo series was the golden one. But really, it turns out that you just wanted TT to be for us. And that's fine. If you only want to play this game with us, then we'll create "The Threeve Amigos" and only play with you, me and leisher.

I would honestly say the biggest factor in our turnaround is having someone call the games.
I am not considered to be an essential element of the 3v3 team, so I don't care about that any more, either.
Here's the thing: There is not a single one of us that is considered "essential" anymore. Not one. Not even Riflescout. We play ranked games almost exclusively unless we're training, and then we're in normals or goofing off in ARAM. We've played ranked without Stranger, you, Cake, Rifle, Chaotic, etc. and that list includes me.
I did not want to play that 3v3, but I felt bad for Scooty because he waited 40 minutes to play with us. I did not know it was ranked until the game was launched. If I had been asked, I would have suggested we not play ranked, and not because I think Scooty lost us the game, but because I hadn't played a game with him in forever on that map. I would have felt the same way about most of the current TKV peeps in the same situation.
And FYI, you absolutely kicked ass earlier that evening. If you want, I'd be more than willing to say that TKV TT ranked should be the three of us. We can tell everyone. Although, would we be able to stop Rifle, Sniper, and Chaotic if they went to play a TT ranked game? No, however, I'm pretty sure they'd honor our request. Cake and I could have played that ranked game with Scooty under the other TKV guild banner, and should have.

If you quit, you quit. That's on you. However, I will tell you that every single person, including Rifle takes criticism, and I've yet to hear anyone say "Gordo is a dick" or anything like that about anyone else. Nobody is being personal, and there's always been good natured ribbing in all team sports/events/etc. If you feel it goes to far, say something. I'll back you up, and have when I told Rifle to cut out the chatter in game.

Listen I get that. There's a whole old lion, young lion mentality at play here. You need to get past it. I did, and I'm playing much better for it. Remember when I was the ADC? Then I was mid? Now I can play anywhere, and I just fill whatever is needed, including support. The game never gets remotely boring because I could be anywhere as any champ. On top of that, the game has started slowing down for me, and I'm starting to really understand it even more than before.
It's like a golf swing. If you have a bad habit in your golf swing and you practice every day, you are simply reinforcing that bad habit. You're not getting better.
However, if you have someone working with you to correct that bad habit, you get better. About a week ago, I carried (their words) that team of youngsters. Pulled off a Quadrakill after my ult had already been burned as Keenen, which means the kills were simply coming from plays.
Gordo, we sucked at this game. Seriously. We were far worse than we ever thought. Playing with these guys has completely changed the way we play and look at the game. If you don't want to listen to them for advice, listen to Cake, Stranger, and I as we've all gotten vastly better, and are dropping our old habits.
You are too, you just don't realize it. Notice how much your roster has expanded? Notice how much you kicked ass with a champ not named Singed the other night? A champ I've been recommending you play for over a year... :p
Do what I did: Drop the ego, and ask for help. Talk about champs, roles, builds, runes, masteries, etc. You'd be surprised at how willing these new guys and your previous teammates (us) will be to help you out.
Final note: Cake and I aren't writing these walls of text because we want you to quit. Are there going to be some humbling moments when you realize you've been doing something wrong, as you realize you should sit because there's a better top laner on, etc? Of course, but we ALL have to do that. Is Chaotic a better ADC than me? Not especially. He's good, but there isn't a huge ton of difference between us. We both can roll or get behind. We're both aggressive. Yet, I happily turn my role over to him because he's FAR superior at calling games. Rifle is better at mid than me. Cake a better jungle. Stranger a better support (although I have a much better winning rate...ha!). However, I now fill any role and somehow I'm asked to play in most of the team's games (even non-TKV games).
So stop getting down on yourself, and follow the exact same path Cake and I did. Hell, let's match the 5v5 team in ranks with our 3v3 team.
Any more words of quitting out of you and I'll write the Marine Corps and tell them to transfer your records to the Coast Guard.

Really glad he gave me those pointers too, because it made me think about a lot of things I was neglecting. I rolled our support role last night, it was freaking awesome, and I honestly owe it to Strangers tips before we got started.
