Where did you see that kill ratio Catt?

As for the Demo, I think I might have the same stats Gordo. It is my least favorite class.

Once I can load the game again I'll have to post mine. You'll laugh.

Where do I see all that anyway? So far I've only seen stats during server load-up.

There's some screen that shows two stats, by class (by default). I think it defaults to "most points" on the left, and "time spent as class" on the right.

I changed the one on the left to kill:death ratio. But it was still by class, not overall. There may have been a way to change that, but I didn't spend too long on it.

I think the most kills I have before dying is 3.

You can find additional stats via Steam under your user ID and the particular game you're investigating.

Also, if a server tracks them, their page has detailed stats. For example, www.lotusclan.com (I think that was the address, so be careful) had a full listing of players and scores.

I do not believe FNF tracks stats.

Personally, I'd love to see my stats, but I think tracking them on a server hurts game play. Too many folks with fragile egos would spend their time trying to pad or protect their stats.

I also feel the same about certain achievements. I noticed several medics this weekend doing stupid things. I've sure some were new or some were saving ubers for buddies, but I watched a few trying to be offensive weapons. The only explanation outside of them being idiots is that they were after the achievements related to medics doing killing.

I think achievements that must come at the expense of the team should should be earned on an achievement server and avoided in the future by Valve.

For example, there is a medic achievement where you're supposed to kill five people in a row while having a charged uber, but without using it. What the fuck is the point of that?

Not that I don't agree with you, but I was in a situation once when I went forward covering a teammate, and he got headshotted instantly and I was alone, way forward, with an uber and no teammates. Two random enemy stumbled across me while I was waiting for someone else on my team to have the skill to push forward, but none came, and I eventually needle-gunned 2 enemy while i had an uber before i got killed.

I would want an achievement if I had killed 5. ;)

But yes, peeps won't use it that way, and it hurts the team, overall.

Valve said they intentionally made the medic's achievements harder to get. I think they were testing things to see what would happen. The other classes have had easier and more realistic achievements. I know I'm only 6 away from doing all pyro achievements.

Yeah, I must be mistaken and don't know how to read when it says, "Steam is down for routine maintenance." Thanks for correcting me.

You were very choppy when I heard you. Other than that, it was very quiet. I probably have it turned way down.

Did you notice that I consistantly out scored you?

What time was it down? I got on at 6 and played until 6:30, then was back on at 8. I never noticed an issue.

Cake, could you hear our in-game voice, tonight?

Gordo, did mine come in really low or something? You asked me to repeat twice when we were covering that point on Steel.

It pisses me off as I just bought a good new headset, but the damn microphone has already lost tension so I can't position it where I want.

Did you notice that I consistantly out scored you?

What classes do you like to play Cake? I saw you as a heavy and a medic last night. Were you anything else?

The only 2 times I saw him were..

1. As a medic, and he was latched on to the team's top scorer so he could get an assist on all of the kills. Oh yeah, that was me.

2. As other classes and I headshotted him 2 or 3 times as he walked out of his team's door. Never saw him again after that.... not saying he hid, he just stopped using the door I was watching.

Most of the problem was that we were in a spot were people were attacking constantly, and I couldn't hear you very well over the explosions. Seriously. Fog of war.

As far as "choppiness" that Cake heard, has anyone else experienced that? I've never noticed anyone that sounded choppy over TF2 voice.

I play medic if I can find good people to team up with, or if we are low on medics. I try to heal everyone that I see hurting, but I save my ubers for people who I think will use them well. I've spent the most time in game as the heavy though. I do a fair amount of snipering when I think it's needed, or if the map is a good sniper map. Lastly, I do some pyro when the other classes just aren't working out for me. I've tried the engineer a time or two, but have not spent alot of time as one yet. I don't know the good spots, so, I go with what I think will be more help to the team. Soldier, very little time logged. Just don't care for the class. Same with spy. Demo, would be my third least used class.

So, medic, then heavy, then sniper, then pyro. Pyro is catching up to sniper for time played though. All other classes have very little time.

So, that's me.

Oh, and I refuse to get any of the achievements outside of normal game play. I'll get that program that lets me just set them before grinding on a private server or something. If I'm going to cheat, I'll just cheat the easy way. But that's just me.

On one of the maps (Steel, I think), you can stand behind walls as the heavy, and shoot through it, but can't be hit. Watched an enemy heavy kill a 3rd level turret through a wall. His shots were tearing the turret up. The turret's shots were exploding on the wall. Pissed me off. Said something in game about it. Then, I was healing a heaving doing the same thing the other way. Watched him kill multiple heavies, etc, taking fire, but not taking damage. Lame. They need to fix that. And I say it's a bug, not a hack. It's alot like being able to flame people through the fence in the old days.

Lastly, I ALMOST took a picture of Gordon after he sniped me last night. It was a good kill, and the pic would have had him with his fist in the air cheering for himself. It was kind of funny and Gordon would have liked it. But then I thought "Fuck him. He just shot me." And didn't. Now I feel bad. Cause it was a good pic.

The choppyness occured early in the game. So, the voice stuff may not have loaded fully into cashe yet or something. I don't normally hear it that bad. But, you were loud enough to hear, even though I couldn't really figure out what you were saying. The rest of the night, voice comms were smooth, but very soft for me. Again, most likely a volume setting on my end. But I do remember thinking immediately "Fuck. . . and we don't have a TS server running".

I'll turn up the volume and give the ingame voice comms a chance. It REALLY sucked not being able to communicate with you guys. I remember having an uber charged up and I was with Leisher. Though "Damn I wish I could talk to him and he can call for the uber activation". Cause I'm normally behind a wall and can't see what the shooter sees. So I watch the health. When it gets dangerously low, I activate it and hope I didn't activate it right after they cleared the danger. Anyway, I'll give the ingame a chance. But it better work really good. Also, it's going to suck not being able to trash talk if we get on opposite teams too.

TS is way better.

Oh, I'll heal a friend over the top scorer. Cause, I like playing with my friends more. You just happened to be top scorer at that moment. Even when you were low on the board, I'd still hunt you out. I wouldn't spend alot of time with you if you were the sniper though. Healing a sniper is boring. Friend or not.

Quick question. Cause this thread doesn't have enough derails.

If I build stuff as an engineer. Will they all go away if I change classes? What if I help upgrade someone elses stuff? For that matter, can you help build other people's stuff? As in *DEAD* starts a turret. Can I upgrade it to level 2 and him finish it to 3? If so, who's turret is it? I often want to help the engineers build up at the beginning of a round, but then want to switch to a different class (medic, sniper, etc) to provide other support. So, instead of standing around as a sniper at the beginning, can I be helping build engineer stuff?

Just FYI for Cake, I'm usually a pyro (and I'm rapidly approaching the pyromancer achievement of 1,000,000 points in damage), but I play a lot of Engineer and Medic. In fact, last night I was an engie most of the evening as you may have noticed. I didn't plan on it, but the team needed one.

If you see someone using a map exploit or a cheat on FNF, report it. The folks at FNF have zero tolerance for stuff like that and will ban them. That's one of the reasons Gordon and I like that server. The kiddies are held at bay by the no cursing and quick banning policies.

I never heard any choppiness, but I didn't get either of you on my team until late. I think Cake wasn't on my team until 1 a.m.

As for TS, it has no purpose for me whatsoever. Yeah, it's cool to chat amongst friends and all, but half the folks who frequent the FNF server are in my friend list. I haven't had issues on FNF with ignorance over the mic, so I wouldn't bother with TS. It just seems pointless and actually harmful to any team effort. I mean, maybe the folks on TS will work together, but their communications with everyone will be almost nil. That's not good teamwork and makes for shitty gameplay.

Yes. That stuff remains. Yes. Yes. I'm not 100% positive, but I'd say whomever put it down owns it and gets kill credits. Yes, and that would be appreciated.
