Police are finally investigating Beverly for the ball throwing incident.

Of course he claims "a word was said he's never been called before". To his credit, he does say right afterwards that he was still wrong for his actions.

The racism card has been played so much that now my immediate thought is, "bullshit". It's simply become an excuse for bad behavior.

That being said, if they can use the cameras and video to catch someone saying something to him like that, ban that person from another NBA game for life.

But he should still face charges for hitting that poor girl in the head. Honestly, it says a lot that he hasn't already apologized to her specifically and tried to make amends there.

Beverley suspended four games for assaulting two fans.

I guess the NBA thought a slap on the wrist would be too harsh...

Some gamblers are stupid.

A dream scenario would be for the Boston Celtics to draft Bronny because LeBron hates Boston.

UConn's Hurley leaves $40M on the table to stay at UConn.

It's the right move and I respect Hurley more for this decision.

The Lakers are a mess:
-LeBron is a cancer and basically runs the team. He's ousted two coaches since arriving. Actually, it might be three. He's also well on the downslope of his career and is now becoming injury prone.
-Davis is a great center, but has also been injury prone and centers don't typically have long careers.
-They traded away a shit ton of their draft assets based on LeBron's whims and they have nothing in the cupboard for years to come. (Stop me if you know this story Stranger.)
-Their ownership is one of the league's poorest financially.
-This is the worst draft in a long, long time and they're probably going to draft Bronny, who experts have said was a second rounder at best.
-They have nothing left to trade away and both LeBron and Davis are max guys, so they don't have money either.

Hurley would have been walking into an organization that LeBron runs, not the HC. An organization that isn't built to win now, has no real assets to get there, and won't be able to build properly for several years.

Benchwarmer agrees with me. Almost note for note. Also, I'll do it for $25M. Ha!

(Benchwarmer is a good follow during football season.)

Barkley ending his career.

I'm not a massive NBA guy. I've always typically just watched the playoffs and their offseason, which is the most interesting in all of sports. However, I knew about Barkley's work as a commentator. He was always a great guy to listen to in interviews, and he was so natural, honest, and devoid of placating BS as a commentator.

Those are massive shoes that somebody will have the unfortunate task of filling.

After (intentionally?) whiffing on Hurley, the NBA's premier franchise, the Los Angeles Lakers, are set to hire a first time coach.

I truly think Lebron is the fakest person on the planet. I'll never disrespect the work he's put into his game nor his accomplishments on the court, but he's a garbage human being.

From his fake book reading to his terrible hot political takes to his constant act of being just an innocent bystander while whatever team he's with happens to do everything he wants done...

Fuck him.

I won't wish ill on his kid and I hope he does well, but fuck the Lakers for enabled Lebron's horseshit. I hope they don't sniff another championship for the next 40 years.

And honestly, do you know how damaging this is for his kid? Every player in the league is going to mock him mercilessly, not to mention all the fans and pundits. "Daddy's boy".

WBD matches Amazon bid for NBA.

I just hope it means Barkley sticks around for more years.

WBD and NBA heading to court.

TLDR:
-WBD has the right to match any offer for the NBA media rights.
-WBD says they did match Amazon's bid.
-The NBA rejected that bid and went with Amazon, among others.
-WBD now suing.
-Charles Barkley took retirement off the table if the money is right.

Looks like the NBA will win this fight.

Warner has sued the NBA, alleging the league breached its media contract. The suit said Amazon’s deal was structured in a way that made it impossible for Warner to match the offer, but provided scant details on the provisions at issue.
Not a "match" if you cannot match. They're admitting it.

Agree. They have to know that. I wonder what their argument is going to be? "It's not fair because we don't own a streaming platform!"
