You will still have rejection issues like you do with a liver or heart transplant.

A chance at not dying sounds a hell of a lot better than none.

Doing it w/ my own non-fetal stem cells and not having to take anti-rejection drugs sounds even better (and more likely to happen) to me.

Government still concerned they can't access all your data whenever they want.
FBI Director James Comey said Thursday that new federal laws may be required to break the privacy technology contained in the iPhone and other devices.
...

Comey argued that secure smartphones help criminals, from murderers to terrorists, to elude detection. He called for a national conversation about government access.

"We are not seeking to expand our authority to intercept communications. We are struggling to keep up with changing technology," Comey said.

I will root my Android and fucking encrypt my info myself if I must. Rot in hell, James. Fucking die and rot in hell.

"It basically says everybody is going to make themselves, their information totally available to the FBI for the sake of catching some tiny percentage of the population that might be doing something wrong," Gartner Senior Research Analyst Van Baker said.

Holy shit, a voice of reason. Bet he's going to get silenced pretty quick.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.
Among them, DHS disputed the finding that they had no assurance they have enough equipment and medication. DHS suggested the shelf life of their supplies is longer than the audit made it seem, and the IG was basing its conclusions only on manufacturer information as opposed to other research.

Yeah, because those manufacturers don't know shit about the chemicals they produce.

In defense of the DHS, everything has an expiration date (Tylenol, prescription drugs, etc) that are essentially BULLSHIT.

Plastic isn't as eternal as people think, at least the integrity of it.

There was.... something.... I had in storage for years, some plastic something. When I finally had a need of it, it cracked where it was supposed to flex, and it was useless.... I can see it but I can't remember what it was.

I would argue biohazard suits are going to have the same problem. They aren't going to be pliable forever, and is that really the thing you want to be gambling with?

I would be critical if I had a job in which the suit was required to save my life, and it was past its recommended usage date.

Newer plastic compounds are better than older ones. If we can't make one now we aren't too far off from making a biohazard suit that would last forever in storage, waiting to be used.

But it'll still have an expiration date stamped on it.

I would think packing it in a vacuum container of one filled with Nitrogen would help in reducing the oxidation of the hydrocarbons, but I still wouldn't think it would be eternal. Regular ol' background radiation is going to degrade it.

Obamacare rates are going up, and insurance companies can not, by law, release the 2015 rates until after the mid term elections.

http://www.bookwormroom.com/2014....y-worse

This year, for the first time in 20 years I can not even quote a replacement product because Barack Obama has issued a GAG ORDER to the health insurance industry instructing them not to disclose their January 2015 health insurance rates until after the mid-term elections. This is unprecedented. Normally health insurance premiums are released for public viewing 60 days before the January 1st effective date.

I can see my health insurance rates, but I have corporate insurance.

Well, today are the midterms.

Well, I've known the rates for weeks now as I'm part of my company's wellness committee. :p

Seriously though, our company is waving its dick at Obama. We still insure our employees and management has gone out of its way to publicly condemn Obamacare.

Very Republican leaning management. They have prayer at company functions.

My kid's math book actually says, "Common Core" on it.

Last night at parent/teacher conferences we brought it up with his teacher, and she says none of the teachers like common core, it was implemented to fix a problem that didn't exist, and this is why they have kids "check their work" with common core problems doing the same problems the correct way to make sure kids are learning math properly, one way or another.

I approved.

The majority of teachers in Common Core states indicate that the students they work with lack the level of typing and computer skills needed to perform well on the tests

Hmm. Should only take a billion or two to engineer a common test UI framework that doesn't look like the bastard offspring of MC Escher and Picasso during his cubist phase. Also, measuring math aptitude with pure standardized testing is next to worthless. It's like confirming someone's culinary knowledge without seeing them cook.

Republicans are curb stomping Dems tonight.

One more seat and "the party of 'No'" might actually make sense.
