Also...

Dear Team Leader, what do you want out of my move to mid? Is this permanent or temporary?

Basically, I just need to know if I should start spending all my IP on AP runes and champs since I only really own ADC champs and runes.

Should I consider this my secondary with ADC being my primary? Vice Versa? Should jungle be in that mix?

None of that is a complaint in any way, shape, or form. We switched things up the other night once Gordo went jungle, and it was never clarified if this was a week long thing, a month, the new few, etc.

Just want to know how to proceed. Save my IP for the next ADC or go ahead and get an AP rune set...(also give me suggestions on an AP rune set)

If we do proceed with the current lineup, I'm going to purchase LeBlanc and Lux. I already own Katarina.

I wouldn't mind bouncing between top Singed and Jungle GP just to change things up every couple games. Jungle GP got a little tedious the other night after the 3rd game in a row.

-Flat AP quints
-Magic Pen reds
-mana regen yellows
-magic resist blues

Pretty standard for any AP you can differ depending on your likes or dislikes.

Jesus guys comon! Holy shit!

I'm working on shutting my fucking mouth ingame because every time I try to give my reasoning for things its taken as a snarky comment. So i'm just deciding to shut the fuck up.

I'm trying to play your way guys, seriously.

I wasn't running around the spawns waiting for my sunfire to kill them, if you KNEW THE CHAMPION I WAS PLAYING YOU"D UNDERSTAND THAT NASUS RELIES ON HIS Q......Jesus. I wasn't bored trying to kill them with a sunfire, i was farming my Q.

There were a few other things in there that Cake attacked me for that were just like that, he just auto assumes i'm trying to fuck your game up when i'm really trying to do something else much more constructive. Sorry I suck ass at TT, i'll agree with that statement 100%.

I'm trying, okay? I'm trying. Every other night we're switching roles cause gordo can't play anything but singed, or Leisher can't farm....etc Can i please for the LOVE OF GOD just stick to ADC? I like tristana for her range and abilities as stated above.....

But seriously guys. Seriously. I'm just shutting up in chat so you don't take every damn thing that comes out of my mouth as an attack. I'll just have zero say in anything whatsoever, continue to speak my position/intentions during game, and have nothing to say when people accuse me of trying to get kills with my sunfire cape (<-----Really though, like.... WOW).

I agree I get heated in game, just like everybody else Theo and Stranger excluded. If gordo isn't rage logging, Leisher and Cake are bitching up a storm back and forth mid game because Cake thinks he knows everything, and Leisher thinks he knows everything. I may get poopy here and there, but no more than anybody else does. 75% of the time, i'm trying to voice why i don't think something is a good call, or why i'm doing what i'm doing, and its just taken as a fricking attack. So to solve this problem.... My mouth will be shut! You want me to jump into that fight? Alright. I'll do it, regardless of what i think the outcome will be, rather than voicing my concern i'll just follow along with the rest of the team.

Only problem with that? Now i'm apparently being a martyr and everyone thinks i'm just going to ruin the fight or whatever just to simply prove a point. Thats not the case. I'M NOT TRYING TO RUIN YOUR GAME. REALLY, I'M NOT. I just want to reach a medium where we can all play and be happy without all these accusations...

So please. Don't quit playing to "SHOW ME", keep playing. Just give me the chance to shut up and do what you say okay? I've tried tooooooo many times to find constructive ways to voice my concern or disagreement with a call, but it just doesn't work...

Keep trying, i'm doing everything i can, alright? I don't like losing anymore than you guys do, but i'll leave the calls to you gentlemen, you clearly have more experience and know what you're doing. I'll keep my mouth closed and follow the orders.

As far as my lack of teamplay, ummmm. I've always been working on that. I just try to play how the last adc played, FARM FARM FARM FARM FARM OMG MY FUCKING FARM, thus i place farm as the highest priority!!!! I'm not trying to screw you guys and be missing for team fights just to go farm "I'll show you guys!! Now you'll lose the game cause i'm not there!"..... NO. Jeebus. I'm only trying to follow the ones before me, again i'm new to this role just as every other role i've been placed in the last few weeks. If you see me somewhere i shouldn't be, tell me. Except this time i won't try to explain my reasons for being there, i won't say no, i'll shut up and do what you say. Beyond that, i'm trying to recognize when i need to be somewhere else other than where i'm at. Yes i perform better in random games, because randoms half the time suck balls, thus i'm playing a bunch of retards trying to hump a doorknob. Playing with you guys, we're playing other 5v5 premades, who have skill and understanding of the game.... So i have a much harder time getting into the mix of a REAL 5v5 PVP experience. Its way different, and i'm sure you all agree.

Thats all. Don't. Give. Up. I'm trying. Sorry for being such an apparent inconvenience thus far......

Regarding your comment as to why I switched from Vayne to Trist. Yes. I was getting my ass kicked with Vayne, shes very squishy, and in order to do any kind of damage shes right in the middle of the fight with her terribly short range.... Just wasn't working out, couldn't jive with Ronnie at all. Not his fault, totally mine.

Trist. She has the longest range in the game, lots of damage output being an ADC, is still pretty squishy, but being i'm so much further from the fight i can do my work from a safer distance. Her abilities are nice yes, but its purely situational. No I won't be jet jumping into a 5v5 fight, i'll be saving it to get OUT of a fight when it falls to the wayside. Jet jump into a smaller 2v2? Yes. Viable, i can drop them before they touch me.

Please stop making assumptions for the decisions I make, because a lot of the time you're wrong. These are the things i try to explain to you in chat, but its always taken as an attack..... You were right about the Vayne thing, i agreed there totally...See? I'm not always right, and i'm ready to admit that. But you guys really need to stop making up these crazy assumptions for why i'm doing what i'm doing, as me just trying to ruin your game and make your lives harder.... Thats just stupid.

Leisher: I posted a few posts back that I think our plan to have everyone in a specific role might be a mistake. I think you are better mid as Teemo than you are adc as graves. So, switching roles? No, just playing our strengths. If it turns out you rock mid as Kat as well, then cool. Another strength. But our earlier assumptions of "If you play one ADC, then you can play another cause that's the role you are an expert at" was flawed. You are WAY better as Ez than Graves and way better as Teemo than Graves. It appears Gordon has better potential as GP (have only seen him three times) in the jungle than Nunu jungle or Nasus top. So, instead of forcing Gordon to pick another top champ that he doesn't like playing or sucks at because he's our top, he can go jungle as GP.

I guess we have to decide. . . are we playing roles, or playing champs? Personally, I play enough that I feel just as comfortable in mid as Ziggs as I do Jungle as Rengar. I've fought a ton of different champs as both of them that I'm confident I can do well. Mid as Veigar though? Different ball game. I think I can work on him and improve, but, I think there are better mids that I could play too. Syndra is the new hot item for mid. See her in most ranked games now and we've seen that she hits hard and long. But anyway, ya, I don't know. I'm leaning towards playing champs instead of roles. That seems to be where we are strongest. We play weaker when we try to shoe horn a champ into our role, rather than playing a champ we are strong with in a different role.

Scooty, you are going to have to be just as patient with us as you are asking us to be of you. Playing with you has been a roller coaster to say the least. Leisher hints at you filling whatever role is needed any given night because you've played pretty much every champ in the game. And I agree with that. But, you aren't good with any of them. You used to be before we hit level 30 or we couldn't build a 5 man team. But when we are against other 5 man teams, your lack of expertise really comes through. You like Trist this weak, but a few pages back, you were totally in love with Shen and were begging for that to be your role. We have tried, from pretty much the beginning, to get you to settle into something. And it just hasn't happened yet. You can blame the last couple of months on us because we ask you to fill in the blank of the night. But, that's just because you have no role right now. You never have. So, it only makes sense that you be the filler. But with the level of competition being higher now, ESPECIALLY in ranked games, you are a serious draw on the team. You can't perform as well as your counterpart on the other team. This week, you're asking for that to be Trist ADC. Whatever. We'll see how long that lasts. You can take offense at that comment all you want. But all we have to do is scroll through the many pages of text here and read all the times your champion of choice has changed. So, again, be patient with us when we have to wait till we see it before we believe it.

That being said, it means we are still short on support. Anyone want it? I don't have a problem heading there. I have played a few games as Naut as support and we didn't do half bad. I pull them in, shield up and let the adc poke them down. I've played Soraka, but never had luck with her in our games. Would do really well in solo queue, never clicked in premades. But anyway, I really think it's in our best interest to kick Stranger out of his role for a little while. It's just hard to do cause he's good at it. But we have to!

And, while I'm at it. I like the old Theo better than the new one. The new one sings and burps in voice chat and plays like ass. The old Theo tried hard to impress us and played really well.

I was and still am, totally in love with Shen. Leisher wasn't, and somewhere in there it was suggested that i switch with Ronnie in jungle to have the better support option back... So i was never really given the chance to learn and excel as the support champion. Same with the Jungle, you guys have had other people training in your jungle which kicked me out with my Warwick... I have no problems with sticking to something, but I don't feel its right to start a fight with everyone by screwing up ideas and strategies by saying no, I'm going to play this role regardless of who you'd rather have training at it.....

So whats the word? does someone else wanna try support for a while? If so what should i start playing? I'll do whatever doesn't matter to me.

And i know i told Scooty that i was gonna make a mobafire guide on how i like to build my supports. I think i will get to working on that today just so you guys can get a little insight on how i go about doing support. I'll post the link whenever i get it done.

I can give it a shot.

Start a new thread telling me the philosophy of it and general tactics. I'll buy Sona or something. I'll master it and peeps will say DAMN STRANGER SUCKS COMPARED TO YOU GORDO, YOU DESERVE A MEDAL!

I honestly have no idea how you do well with only 7 minion kills at the end of a game.

im currently building a guide on mobafire. Sona is an easy champ to learn and is fun to play. if you have some extra ip you will need to buy some gold per 10 runes. If you follow my guide you will become almost as good as the zen master support that i am.

I must not have access to that part of the forum where you posted it, because I did'nt see your thread =/ So i'll just post what i've got here instead!

Support doesn't need minion kills for gold, nor do you REALLY need the runes, i found myself doing just fine bot lane with no minion kills, no gold per items/runes/masteries... Its just all about how you play and initiate. Its the assists that get you the gold. Ronnie ends with 7 minion kills, but about 30 assists every game heheh.

Personally found the tanky supports to be the best option. Build tanky runes/masteries/support items and you'll be able to initiate and take all of the damage for your ranged adc. When you start getting into some of the champs like sona/soraka....etc, your looking at more of a team support, not an adc support. Those champions work best when in the large 5 man groups towards end game. The tankier support champions tend to have all the stuns/slows/taunts that really help the adc at bot, not to mention the high amounts of damage they can sustain.

I've started training up my Varus a ton in solo queue because it just seems the squishy ranged supports are all we see down bot. Which is fine! But thats just where you really lack in sustainability and stuns/slows/taunts. Varus has a nice slow and a nice stun, also has a great q spell for getting those long range finishing blows for a kill (Similar to a nid spear). His W also gives every hit an extra magic damage punch. That plus all my +AD runes plus the dorans right off the bat make farming minions a breeze, aswell as his early game harass.

If we start seeing some more of the tanky supports down bot, champions like vayne/tristana can start getting played, as the stuns and slows are coming from the support.

Ashe would be another good one for me to train up while we're doing the squishy Team support champs right now. Just a thought.

Also for the record, if you think about it almost any champion can be taken for support bot. Mostly tanks is what i'm getting at. Sejuani/Rammus/Shen....etc They've all got amazing sustain, and tons of taunts/slows/stuns...etc. Just need to pay attention to how you build is all. See thats the great thing about running a tanky support champion, you can still take all the support aura items to support your entire team in the 5v5 late game phase, while still be a massive help to your adc early game. Like with my Shen bot, I don't run any support items other than the sightstone for wards, i'll just buildup a tanky build. That way I find myself filling multiple roles, i've got the wards for the team, i can initiate fights, and still have all the taunts and shields for my team to support with...

Support has to be one of the most versatile roles in the game, there are soooooo many champions, soooo many builds, sooo many different ways you can play it to better mesh with your team.

At least thats what I learned in the 3 days of playing your support bottom.

While i understand your thinking about support, i don't necessarily agree with most of it. Yes, you can initiate with Sejuani, Rammus, or Shen but where is your support? Where is your sustain (shields, or heals) for your AD? where is your damage buff to your AD? A good team will see a melee support and avoid them and just go ahead and attack your AD and now your a useless support. A smart team will know better than to attack the tank rammus and just focus that squishy Vayne sitting back there.

Your idea of support is full on attack and agressive, an all in type of comp. while this is good and i love playing Leona cause she is that type of support, it doesn't always work. But when you cant get those kills and the other team knows how to avoid you and your pushed back on your tower you cant help your AD whatsoever. And when they do focus you and you have to recall cause you lived with a sliver of health, how are you helping your AD now? He's left in lane alone with no support now.

That's why you see so many ranged supports. With Sona, Lulu, Nami and others you can harrass and poke down the enemy without getting into a dangerous position. Make them use their potions and heals and mana just to sustain, make them recall and lose out on experience and gold. Many times i can just zone an enemy AD out of farm by just walking in a little closer as they go to make a last hit, just the threat of poking them starts to get into their head, and they lose out on farm. And when things aren't going so well and we are pushed against the tower or getting poked down ourselves, i have the ability to heal or shield my AD and keep them in lane where they need to be, not back at base healing up. Not to mention all those supports have some sort of hard CC that Rammus and Shen and Sejuani also have.

And maybe you have had some success without running any gold runes but in the long run you are just shorting yourself out of much needed gold and items that help the team so much more than just yourself. Getting assists does really help your gold production, but there are many games where you just don't get them assists or there just aren't that many kills. Now you are hurt twice as bad cause you are depending on assists for gold and your a melee tank with no items and just gets bursted down immediatley cause your just a pussy. At least if my supports aren't having a good game, i still have a steady gold income, and i bring so much more utility to the team early game and late game.

Did some research on Anivia after that game last night. Very interesting character, and the guy who played him was very creative. He didn't abilities until he hit lvl 6. Thus, I was completely unprepared for what he did, and the damage he could do.

And I figured out why he did so much damage without any AP items. His abilities, when used in combination, do double damage. Also, he can spam his ult, which is insane. It has a 6 second cooldown, and kind of reminds me of Darrius, but with Nunu's ult.

I might add that character to my list of champs to try out. For him, the trick is just keeping your mana flowing.

Scooty -
I have some advice for you, which you've been asking for based on the walls of text you've posted lately. I only ask that you read them, and don't respond back. You're asking for opinions, and I'm giving them, but I'm not interested in a debate. You want to follow up, ask me in chat. Fair? (Actually, this really only applies to #1.)

1. Cake, Gordo, and I have been playing games together, working together, socializing together, etc. for close to two decades. We're also all in the same age range. Stranger and I are family, have known each other for over a decade, and I see his ugly mug once a week on average. There is a familiarity there that allows rage logging, arguing, snarky comments, etc. to be forgiven and forgotten without a word. We'll tease one another about it, but no grudges are held.

The point of that is despite your relation to Cake, you haven't gotten to that level with us yet. You will, you just need to understand that listening to you and Cake fight (which is pretty natural), hearing you argue with Gordo or me or Stranger, making smart ass comments in game, ripping folks on the forums, etc. isn't getting you to that level.

It doesn't matter if we all do the same or similar things. We're entrenched. We've earned our spots. You keep saying you want to fit into this team and become a part of it, and I'm here telling you that step one isn't to alienate yourself.

Look at Theo. He's Mr. Nice Guy right? However, I've heard both Cake and Gordo complaining about him lately because of stuff he does in chat during games. He doesn't fight with anybody, but he's still getting criticism. So it doesn't take NASA to figure out that a guy who is fighting with everyone will take even more criticism.

So relax and learn to take some ribbing without thinking it's always personal.

2. Play characters as they are intended to be played.

I realize there's a trend right now to try different people as supports, but they lack something that Stranger points out: Support abilities.

In last year's world championships or one of the rounds leading up to it, Nunu was picked as a support champ a ridiculous number of times. Guess what the win record was for those teams? Far less than 50%.

Think about it. You're moving a damage dealer into a support role where they're not getting farm. How effective can they possibly be? Meanwhile, your ADC isn't getting true support from them. "Support" doesn't mean share a lane with someone. It means to enhance that person's abilities, ensure they're safe to farm, harass the enemy's farming abilities, etc. If a character isn't built for that purpose, they're probably not going to be very good. Sure, you might zone out the enemy's duo from time to time, but success in 1 out of 12 games isn't success.

And to give you a final example, I don't see you rocking Heimerdinger as the ADC, so why would you think it's ok to play support with Shen?

3. Listen to your teammates.

I've played the ADC role for well over a year. Cake's been playing it for some time now. Stranger plays support all the time. We probably have a good idea of builds, how to farm, how to respond to your support, what support is doing for you, etc. Don't just brush off information given to you by us. If Cake is talking to you about positioning in game, listen to him. Hell, even when I argue with him I'm still listening to him.

We may not know each characters' abilities off the top of our hand, like I didn't know Anivia's, but we know the overall strategies of the game, strategies and goals for positions, and its various lanes strategies.

So even if you disagree, listen. When your plan does better, wait until post game or on these forums to talk about it. Explain why you did it, and how it worked out. If your plan fails though, something we said might trigger in your head, and help you see what to do next time.

4. Stay positive.

Funny for me to say that right? I get frustrated easily, but I tend to try and quickly recover. We all have our own ways of doing it. Sometimes, we just need a moment. Sometimes we need help. Sometimes calling the enemy you finally got the best of a curse does it. Sometimes we just need the next game to start. Point being, get past whatever is frustrating you, and work it out without taking it out on teammates or being negative.

Last night, Anivia frustrated me, and I got pissed because I didn't understand how he was doing so much damage as he was doing nothing a second ago. Cake asked what was needed, I fought switching lanes, he came to help gank, and we got things more under control.

The very next game Ryze got me for first blood. I didn't get upset at all. He walked away with no health left, and I still had all my health pots (i didn't pop one during the fight by mistake), and I went back to lane and started dominating him.

Getting frustrated never results in victory. Something only you and I, but others on the team should work on as well.

5. Don't get so lost in farm that you miss all the team fights.

Playing the ADC is a high stress position. The whole team is looking at you to bring the pain in team fights. Thus, it's very natural to get lost constantly trying to farm because you're just not hitting for enough or you need more AS.

We'll find you moments to get more farm once team fighting begins, but don't get yourself out of position to respond or be ganked.

Everyone falls into this trap from time to time.

Anyway, that's it. You asked for some advice, and I figured I'd provide it rather than have you spinning your wheels and not understanding if anyone gets frustrated with you in game.

I'm telling him to play ranked games. You can get away with Shen or Malz support in solo queue games because you're playing door knobs. That malz/Kayle team that dominated them in bottom lane would NEVER get away with that in a premade ranked game. They got away with it (because our jungler sucks. . . .) because it was Scooty's 5th game as adc (but first with his new favorite adc Varus), Gordon's first or second as support (first time seeing Varus), etc. There is no perfect pair down there. It's easy to counter, or get countered. For every lane pair, there's a lane pair that's better. Saying that Sona is useless because she can't bring the pain doesn't cut it with our team. The play style we have counts on getting farm, never having to leave your lane, etc. That's what we do. If the adc wants to go balls to the wall turret dive for kills, well, then we'll have to change our team comp to accommodate that. But so far, our team doesn't play like that. But to say Stranger is wrong to bring Sona and get pissed because no one is really reading what you are posting and just immediately respond with 'you are wrong', is, well, wrong. We have been playing VERY consistently for the last two years. Scooty has come and gone with the seasons. Our team is pretty stable and set in it's ways now. Will we consider change? Of course. Will we change our team comp and play style over night because the guy with the least amount of experience is telling us all we are doing it wrong? No.

Post what you want. Explain your reasoning. But don't get pissed when we don't just jump in line and change everything because you think you are right.

Yes. We were having an offline conversation. :-)

He did finally play a ranked game though. We having a really good time, till mid game. They his team got steam rolled. I saw it coming. His team was celebrating an early victory amongst themselves. They did really well during the laning phase, but once team fighting started, they fell apart. The enemy team had a Malz and some other OP champ that I can't remember. HORRIBLE bans by his team. Point being, you learn WAY more playing ranked games than you do non. I'm not sure if he learned anything though. His PC was lagging out, which didn't help things. But his team had no chance.
