Played a bit on the PBE today with the new masteries. They need to be nerfed.

Interesting and short Q&A about vision, jungle, and game flow in S4.
I might take the weekend off from LoL and play BL2. Not sure yet. Just not feeling any passion for LoL because I know S4 changes everything. I've been more into ARAM games than SR. I think us being so far from any promotion, and the season only 3 days from ending is helping make the decision for me.

ill be on. ill play whatever LOL or any other game for that matter. If anyone wants to play another game to try something else for a night i'm all ears.
I noticed that Cake was playing Path of Exile a few days ago. I played that when it was in beta a few months ago and it was pretty cool. Its supposedly a better version of Diablo 3
Mechwarrior is a free to play game that is now out of beta and i've toyed around with that a few times, pretty cool mech game.
Those were just a few that came to mind that are free and i thought were pretty fun. If anyone else has any suggestions say something. Or we can just play more LOL im always down for that. And of course BL2 is always an option, i didn't know anyone has been playing it though.

WORLD CHAMPIONS!!

To my knowledge, I'm the only one playing BL2. I'm going through it with Axton and trying to level him up to take on some of the invincibles.
I have numerous multiplayer games I'd like to run through at some point, but none of the ones you mention
Magika (I know Cake has played that), Castle Defenders, Monaco, etc. would be fun. I wouldn't mind getting back into some TA or SC and definitely TA 2 when it hits.
I've also got quite a few single player games I still need to knock off when I have time. In fact, I should be playing one of those over BL2.
However, don't be fooled by me talking these other games. I'm not bored with LoL, I'm simply not interested in ranked for S3 because we don't have enough time to do anything with it. S3 ends Monday, and I'm pretty sure at least two of us won't be on Saturday...
I'm probably going to be a bit sporadic until that S4 patch goes live.

Team work for S4 changes? Playing smart changes?
I dunno. I don't think champ builds/masteries/runes were our biggest problems. Learning to not do dumb things and to play as a team were. And that's not going to change for season 4. I've been playing ranked and practicing my support. I'm a pro leona now. I'm betting her abilities don't change much in season 4 and I'll still need to anticipate enemy movement for my ult, etc.
I think it's hurting us taking this long break from LOL.
Path of Exile. Meh. Spent a bit of time in it the other night with my wife. We like Titan Quest and Torchlight. Although this game plays almost exactly the same, it did have a good feel to it. I think the biggest problem I have with it is the economy. We spent a whole bunch of time grinding and collecting loot out in the wild. Had full packs and went back to town to sell it. Except, you don't sell it. You trade it. There is no gold/silver/etc that I see. I can trade in a bunch of low level items for some low level parts to 'orbs' and 'scrolls'. Then bigger items cost 5 'orbs' and 3 'scrolls' and stuff. I don't seem to have any control on what I'm getting for what I'm turning in. So, if I want 10 orbs to buy a new sword, but I'm getting scrolls, well, too bad, maybe. I don't know how to haggle with the NPC vendors. You might be able to. But I didn't see it. We weren't interested in learning a new economic model to play the game, so we don't plan to get back into it.
As far as game play, story line, etc. It was much closer to Titan Quest than Torchlight. Skill tree is CRAZY huge. Like MASSIVE ENORMOUSLY huge. Which was cool and impressive.
Scooty is playing World of Tanks (aka 'Tiny Tankies' as my wife calls it to drive him nuts) and loves it. Wants me to try it. Looks boring to me. Here's my observation:
Game starts. Drive your tank closer to enemy and park in some trees/bushes to hide. Watch the screen as the scouts continue forward. 30-90 seconds later, enemy spotted. Zoom in on them and take aim. Aim is based on your shot dispersion indicator growing smaller the longer you aim. When the circle is tight enough, click to fire. Wait for it. Wait for it. Wait for it. BOOM round impacts target location. Meanwhile, target cursor is tightening up ready for the next shot. Wait, he's moving, moving my mouse to lead the target, my dispersion range jumps to max again, start waiting for it to tighten again, he's turning, move my mouse again, wait. Point is, a ton of waiting, not much firing, and when you do hit, very non-rewarding results. Didn't pen armor. Did 10% damage. Missed. Someone else kills before your round hits. You start getting hit while sitting and aiming. Now you have to move, etc. He did change from artillery to tank killer, which puts him up close in the action. Now, you face off against an enemy on a street. Exchange fire and hope you do more damage than him. Smart to travel in packs to focus/destroy enemies faster, etc. But still a lot of driving, stop, aim, don't move, cursor small enough, FIRE, blah impact. Tanks don't even explode. They just instantly change from a functioning tank to one with smoke coming out and it's tracks busted up. But he's spent many many hours grinding to buy upgrades. Not my thing.
I'm playing TQ and TL2 nightly watching LOL to see if the team joins. But no one is ever there. I think Rifle is giving up on his diamond dreams because he's stuck at low platinum 1. Can't get close to his promo series.
In summary, I'm playing other games now too, waiting for the LoL team to show up. I think we should keep playing to keep improving as a team. Some aspects of the game might be changing, but team work and playing smart is still going to apply.

I just checked and I got my S3 icon, but launched a custom to check and no border. Not sure if that just loads for non-customs...?
I won't quit that team yet, because why not in case bridges are mended.
Also, "the" patch is being discussed for next week. So if they stay on schedule, we'll see S4 preseason truly begin next week.
I should be on here and there this week.

I'm like a pro diamond level Ziggs player now. I can score all the kills and farm that Rifle does in mid, without all the dumb plays and feeding.
I'm like 9 for 10 in my last 10 ziggs games. The one I lost, my team was doing horrible and surrendered at 20. I never had a chance to take off. Mid/late game, I do SO much damage that my idiot teammates can start score kills and we win team fights. Having a high win rate with Rengar jungle as well. Key to winning bronze games is playing a champ that can snowball and carry. I don't know how Stranger ever got out of bronze maining support. That's quite a feat, in my opinion.

One for All only lasts until December 2nd. I think it'll be my preferred mode until that time.

I like it because it has all the randomness of ARAM, the learning of champs you don't play often, and the casualness of ARAM.
We got countered? Who cares? Try something crazy to win.
The only game that wasn't a ton fun was the Katarina game, and that's because Rifle wasn't in voice, and I had to hear peeps complaining about it the whole game. I still had fun with it though.
Doing new things in a casual situation is a lot more fun then getting hammered in ranked. It's just a nice change of pace before the season starts.
