League of Legends - Trumped up Rock, Paper, Scissors
Kill stealer, maybe. I prefer to call it kill secured. But sacrificing my carry for a kill, NEVER! I'm not sure of the circumstances of the fight you are talking about but i can assure you i wasnt letting Leisher get killed just so i could get a kill. I embrace the roll of supporting and pulling off saves in this game. Yeah when we are on the offensive i try and put out as much damage as possible to help in the kill. It just so happens tha Sona has some damage that will pull off the last hit in the kill, but that is in no way intentional.
As far as this losing streak and tension as of late.. Remember that just the week before we were all feeling our oats and bragging about our wins. So we decided that we were good enough for some ranked, we got most of our mains either banned or taken by the other team, AND WE GOT ROLLED!! So we all decided we needed to start expanding our roster of champs. And as to be expected it hasn't been the smoothest of rides, but i guess i was expecting that, we all should have been. Instead it turned into, we've gotta win and finger pointing commenced.
Not to mention all of the sudden Scooty comes back into the mix and we decide to throw him in at support, i understand this thinking cause we haven't had a second person really fulfill that roll yet. But bottom lane takes two people that know how to work together and that just don't happen overnight. So now we've got Gordo learning a new build for Singed. Me and Cake going back to familiar rolls, but ones that we haven't done in a while, a brand new support and Leisher hell bent on learning Graves. That to me sounds like a recipe for losing. So why have we lost our focus? In the end its its a normal game and it doesn't really count towards anything. The ranked games are what we are really shooting for, aren't we?
Last night i was talking to Leisher about how normal game match making works. And i did a little research today cause i thought i read it before. But in order for the game to keep normal game que times down (specially in premade 5's) Riot will match unfavorable matchups just to keep the games rolling. So we may be fighting 2000 ELO teams when we are in premade normals, we are not at that level. This usually isn't a problem in solo que as its pretty easy to find any number of people around your ELO, but finding a premade 5 at your ELO is a little more unlikely as more premades play in ranked. And yes there is a hidden ELO that Riot uses for normal games. There is no way to find out what yours is, but it is there. So actually if we played more ranked games we would eventually get to a point that we are playing our level of competition on a more regular basis. It may not have looked like that with our first two games, but we don't get an ELO rating untill our 10th game.
So lets just chill out and work on what we need to work on. The wins will come, sometimes in big lumps all together sometimes few and far between. No need to take anything personal.

WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
I hear what you are saying about kill stealing and kill securing. And I'm joking when I say you are doing it on purpose. Especially where I said you let him die. BUT your ult WAS cooled down and you didn't cast it until after he died. . .
I need to learn how to pull stuff out of those videos to post on YouTube. You didn't do it on purpose though (I don't think!). It was just one of those times that we could have won a fight had we done one split second thing differently. But anyway. . . . My only wish for Stranger's support is that he focus more on those fights where he's helping secure the kill, and then takes it. I know in the heat of the moment, it's hard to judge if your shot will be the final one, or one that leaves 2hp. Or if the carry is in range to take the shot. Or if the carry's abilities are cooled down and they are about to finish him, etc. BUT, that's part of being the support. Knowing that stuff. There are MANY times when we are in a fight and I KNOW my ability is about to kill someone and with a half a second delay, I can evaluate if my carry is in range, etc. But I don't. I just take the kill and then feel guilty for it afterwards. So I am trying to practice what I'm preaching as well. I'm trying to be more sensitive to situations. Not so much when I'm playing mid (because I think they should be farming along with the carry), but when I'm jungle. There are a ton of my kills where I say to myself "I didn't have to take that shot". And these are times when the carry was in plenty of range, there was no way the target was getting away, etc.
So, that's all I have to say about support. Your team buff items are great. You remember to use them! etc. The only place I see room for improvement is micro analyzing the fights and not taking that kill shot unless it's absolutely necessary.
My Veigar. Ya, he's been sucking. And I don't think it's so much that I've gotten rusty with him (because he's been my go to mid when solo queueing so he gets played). I think people have just gotten better at playing against him. It's not so much that I'm missing the circle. . . it's that people have learned to dash, flash, jump, etc, through it. Often times they are still stunned (after dashing, etc. Flash still negates the circle), but no where near where we expected them to be. I've never taken the time to learn how to drop the circle edge directly on someone. That's what I need to do now. So, yes, more practice and a change in tactics for me. Hell, even I don't get caught by Veigar's circle as much any more. I learn to anticipate it (if Veigar is charging, you KNOW he's going to lead with it. It's often best to close in on him. You end up in his circle, but you can cast on him cause you are close to him and you have room to avoid his W spell that's falling from the sky). So, I'm taking Veigar out of my line up with you guys, putting Ziggs back in and practicing offline with Veigar before I bring him back to our team.
Ziggs: I left Ziggs for Veigar because I couldn't land any of his spells. Too many bombs and ults missing because I'm not leading/anticipating correctly. This will ALWAYS be a problem for him because his spells are so delayed. But I think all the skill shots with Amumu and Naut have helped hone my aim. I'm learning how to compensate for the delay and I also use my mine field to herd the enemy to a choke point. They are going to either run through my mine field, or take a balloon to the head. I also fight closer to the enemy and use my satchel charge to jump away from trouble. It's so fun doing that. A melee champ dives me, I drop it, pop it, I go flying towards my turret, they go flying away from me! Owned. . . I got messed up by a fizz the other night though. His dash will dash PAST or through me. So, when he dove, he was between me and my turret. I drop my satchel as normal, and when set off, it blasts BOTH of us towards my turret. So, he's still on me beating the shit out of me. PLUS, his fucking E that bounces him on his trident and allows him to avoid our abilities keeps him from taking turret hits. So, I will still burst him down to nothing, but then he hops out of the turret, with NO health and a turret shot heading his way to kill him. But, he's bouncing on his trident and takes no damage and survives. I have to fight him differently. . . But anyway, I'm having acceptable games, and really good games, with Ziggs right now. So, that's who I'm using.
Theo update. I got a message from him the other night saying he expects to be back online in two weeks.
Scooty: Your biggest problem is taking orders during a game. Played a couple of TT games and we got rolled. We were having a lot of trouble against a singed. When targets were being called, we weren't responding as a team. Snarky remarks started flying and the night ended on a very sour note. Practice what you preach. Listen to the leader. I've often said that I'm not perfect and won't always make the right call. But having everyone on the same page is better than everyone being scattered. Don't leave the team because you think I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, school me after the game. I'm all ears and would love the feedback. But in game, either take over as leader (I have no problems passing it on) or do what I say. I didn't say "You suck and are stupid". I said "Stay with your team, we needed you in that fight". Your response was "I don't know why you guys are chasing singed. That's the number one thing you don't do with him". As I showed you in the video after the game (I love these things!), we were not chasing singed. We DID engage him, he got the upper hand, and we retreated. His flip and slow were keeping us in the fight. We continued to retreat, but also fought back. We made it to our turret. He dove us. He killed me. Gordon got away. You finally came down and easily killed Singed. Had you been there from the point where I called Singed as the target (you were with us when the target was called, but you went top instead), we would have killed him, chased him away, or something, instead of trading deaths. But with our own slows, flips and damage output, I'm highly confident we would have killed him. But bottom line, a call was made in the game, you ignored it, not cool. ESPECIALLY without saying anything. At least the other time you ignored a called target, you said "I don't care, I'm killing Ashe" and we knew you weren't there and didn't count on you, pulled out, lost our alter, but didn't die in the process. So, ya, I had a big problem with your teamwork that night. If I'm making bad calls during a game, please, PLEASE, someone take over. I'm not going to fight you. There are times when I just don't read things right. LOTS of times when I'm shouting "FALL BACK FALL BACK" and no one listens and you guys ace them. Then I say "Good thing you guys didn't listen to me!". If my calls are bad, someone take over. But no matter who the leader is, we've got to listen to him.

Getting the hang of Rengar again. Using him as an assassin instead of a front line fighter. I stealth (back up to 7 seconds) and pounce on their squishies and/or almost dead. Rapid fire all of my abilities and I can rack up the damage. Playing front line, he's like any other melee carry. Super squishy and vulnerable. Over all, not doing too bad with him again.
Something else. I saw an item called Hextek Sweeper. Reveals enemy's stealthed traps. Does that include Teemo mushrooms? I did a quick forum search but didn't see anything. The threads that showed up were 50+ pages long and I didn't try to scan every page for the answer! But, something we might want to test sometime.

He was just buffed in the latest patch.

Off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure they altered some item to help make Teemo less of a force on TT because people were saying his mushrooms were unfair as they're essentially wards. I don't know which item or what it does though.

Tribunal notes
If you report a lot and those aren't upheld by Tribunal, then your reports mean less to the point where you might as well not report. The opposite is true if your reports are punished by Tribunal often. Your reports will hold lots of weight.
Nobody has EVER been banned for lack of skill.
Lyte is also pretty sure nobody has been banned for failure to communicate.

Just thought I'd let the rest of the team know. . .
We will be having a 7th joining us for tomorrow nights games. I myself will be sitting out of a couple games to have him tried out in my place, and we'll see how he fairs which ever position we decide he'll fit best in based on his play style. Met him in a random game tonight freshening up on my Warwick jungle, as I'm trying to find ANYTHING I can perform better with as your support jungler, while still being able to stay up with levels, provide decent ganks, and keep a decent farm going. Anyway, not the focus of this post, back to the new guy.
His team lost that particular game pretty hard, as my team seemed to have a VERY good synergy responding to different lanes for gank's (Yes, Jungle wasn't the only one ganking!), and over all making smart decisions and playing together as a team. His team however, was the exact opposite.... No team play, terrible decisions, and just over-all bad play. This guy was playing Kat in mid, and despite constantly being shut down in mid by myself and bot coming in for gank's with mid, he managed to hold his own pulling in great farm (from somewhere? He was a part of every team fight, so I still haven't the slightest clue where he was getting it from), pulling off a ton of great kills especially in the team fights despite his team losing almost every single one, and just played very strong and smart overall the entire game. Other thing that really got me was his lack of Hitlerness. Not once made a negative comment, always congratulated and joked when we killed him, was a very positive and fun person to play with all the way to the final scoreboard (Reminded me of Theo quite a bit actually).
So based on what I saw, I'm going to request he replace me for a few games tomorrow night for a tryout period, we can see what he plays the strongest and what champions/roles he can fill for us. He sounds very excited and happy to join us, and will be able to join us in Steam chat and such. I've got him added in-game, and will be getting his Steam info tomorrow (He had to log early to write a term paper so I didn't get the chance to pick it up before he left).
Just thought I might let you all know in advance so you're not surprised when you meet him tomorrow night. Lets hope hes a good respectable player like the rest of us! Can use all the talent we can find.
Also came up with an idea while writing this up, maybe run a custom game tomorrow night instead of a normal queue? That way I can still participate, just on the opposite side of the board. We can let the rest of my team fill up with randoms (shouldn't take long at all). Just a thought, see you all tomorrow night.

Please get this, so we can help this voice lag issue. Steam is extremely unreliable. If its not crashing or DC'ing, it's voice lag is terrible and the lack of settings/controls is really frustrating.
Did a ton of research, and from what I've found this program has the least amount of lag, has loads of options/settings, and isn't steam (So no constant DC's or issues).
Steam drastically decreases our ability to communicate as a team, and stay on the same page in game. Its soooooooo grinding when I yell out an ult or a gank and nobody follows until seconds later because of all the lag. That's mainly why I've just quit talking in voice, and resorted to using pings. They're annoying as hell, but appear instantly at least....

Assuming that's okay with you guys? What are your thoughts on finding more talent to add to the team. As far as I'm concerned we can never have enough "skilled random players". What if one of the true TKV'ers isn't available that night? It's nice to have a selection of GOOD randoms to chose from. Theo for instance. At least i hope you guys pick me over him, as i'm the son of the creator of TKV, it's nice to have a few extras to chose from that we know will be reliable in the role we need. Lemme know what you think.
In other news, Theo said he bought his CPU and is working on getting his PC running tonight. He told me which CPU he was buying from Newegg and I told him about the sale at Microcenter that always beats Newegg and he went and bought it.
So, there's that.
As far as voice comms. Steam is easy. Really really easy. Yes, there is a 1 second lag (I hear scooty say something next to me and about .75 seconds later, it's in my headset). I'm not sure picking up another .25-.5 seconds is going to save lives. Lets just keep talking louder when you need people to hear you faster.

If everyone jumps to Mumble, I will.
Eh.
I'd like to add more folks we can play with, but I don't want to create a situation where we're turning away lots of folks for others. We're already in a bit of a jam because we have 6, and I like playing with them all. (Because I'm a whore.)
I think it'd be great to add folks to friend lists, and play with them as needed, but let's not get more folks on nightly expecting to play.
I thought Cake was your dad?
Your dad didn't create TKV. It was actually in UO before him, and was handed down to us. I was the first person here in UO, and was invited to join TKV. Cake and Gordo followed soon after. I don't remember the succession plan, but I think Curt handed it to me, and me to Cake? Don't remember.
Cake, Gordon, Jav, some others I don't remember, and cameos by me put TKV on the map though.
What are your thoughts on finding more talent to add to the team.

Kronos, Za and support from LDR made it possible. Without them. . . I dunno. They REALLY sped us along the learning curve.
Rand Al Thor (or something close to that) started the guild. I got there as the founders were leaving the game, or going to LDR. Leisher handed things off to Gordon and me when he left. We recruited some RL friends and Kronos and Za took us under their wings as well. When we finally figured out that UO was about PVP and not dungeon crawling, we went to Kronos and Za for help. They convinced LDR members to join our guild for our first couple of wars. Watching them, we learned by leaps and bounds. Then they all broke off and we carried it on from there. I never really saw LDR in their large scale wars (ours, when they were with us, were pretty small). So not sure who was better in the end. Us or them. But I'm betting we did WAY more with less. Oh! And of course Maydchen (your mom!), bank rolled us, and then even joined the fighting.
But ya, I'm not the founder. I was just the one "in charge". As in, about as "in charge" as I am now.
