Wait.... did you see the 3 episodes with the pirates? I couldn't tell if they were the end of S2 or the beginning of S3. They were sort of in the middle.

According to the site, there have only been 2 episodes of Season 3 shown so far.
I don't remember pirates. I remember Cancer, and lots more background on Pam and Cheryl/Carol.
Disappointed that I don't know more about Popeye and that I didn't see Conway Stern.
Although, episode 1 of season 2 was particularly fantastic.

You are wrong about season 3. Season 3 remained solid. Maybe you caught a season 3 of some other show and confused it with Archer, like Family Ties, or something?
