As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

Feels right.

I've heard Blade's latest is back on and the rumored director is the guy who did the John Wick series.

Marshala(sp?) Ali is still attached, which is pretty interesting as he had previously walked due to hating the woke script. (It was about his sister taking over the lead role. Yawn. In fact, people who claim to have read it claimed Blade was the fourth character in the movie with the top three being women.)

Also, remember how the latest Cap movie tested super poorly? Thunderbolts is reported to have tested higher than any TV show or movie in Phase 5. Fingers crossed.

Finally, the rumored next "big event" will see the OG Avengers from an alternate universe where they're villains fighting the new Avengers. If they go this route they need to be REALLY careful. People don't love the new Avengers. They do love the old ones. There's got to be an arc where the OGs get redeemed and save the day. Or our OGs show up to save the day. Otherwise people are going to hate it.

With Jonathan Majors' legal troubles behind him, Marvel has been looking to bring him back as Kang.

And that didn't last long...

“I aggressed you” — Majors

“You strangled me and pushed me against the car” — Majors’ ex

“Yes, all those things are under ‘aggressed,’ yeah” — Majors

Bella Ramsey as Kitty Pride?

Marvel is intentionally trying to destroy the brand, right?

No way can they always make the wrong decision for the better part of a decade without it being intentional...

FYI, there are lots of rumors, even including actually statements from the Russos, that a Marvel vs DC film could be in the works.

This one's for Catt. It's a callback to a discussion we had way back when the Fantastic Four was being cast with Michael B. Jordan.

There is a racial controversy surrounding rumored casting of the next Black Panther.

Is it because they might cast a white guy? Nope, although that's a possibility for the upcoming movies where alternate universe characters will be seen. There was a storyline in the books where BP was a white guy. Not an alternate T'Challa, just a different guy who was down the bloodline. So, there is precedent.

It's because Aaron Pierre is one of the people rumored to have been considered and black people were mad saying he isn't black enough. "Too lightskinned".

These are the same folks who cry "racism" when white people are mad about a character race swap.

Nobody ever talks about colorism, but it's genuine proof that ALL people are racists.

this is just stupid. I find most of the race discussions stupid, and this is also stupid.

As I said back then, despite the MSM saying a lot of these casting controversies are race based, they're not. Comic book fans are so racist that Black Panther made over a billion dollars...?

It's about staying true to the source material. Something Hollywood has absolutely refused to do because "they know better" and they're far too busy preaching to audiences rather than entertaining them.

How's that working out? (Sorry, I'm always going to defend my people...nerds...and we've been labeled as every "ist" for the past several years to explain away all of Hollywood's woke failures.)

One of the primary YouTubers I follow, black guy if that matters, had a pretty good thought on this, and I'm paraphrasing, "Cast someone as close to the books as possible, and you'll avoid all the casting controversies about race, sex, etc."

That being said, 100% agree, this light skinned thing is absolutely colorism, which is racism, which is stupid.

Anyway, as for the casting of Black Panther, I believe Chadwick Boseman was the absolute perfect casting. He WAS Black Panther. Those are some GIANT shoes to fill. I think one way to make it easier for the new person is to make them another universe's T'Challa who ends up in the 616 after Doomsday and Secret Wars.
