Anybody who cares about cholesterol numbers or, god forbid, recommends statins is a dipshit. Notwithstanding that some of the other advice is ok.

He really recommends understanding the composition of your cholesterol, looking for VLDL or using some of the newer tests (ApoB/Lp(a)), which can genetically make you much more likely to die of/have heart disease regardless of your exercise / weight / etc.

Yeah but having your gall bladder removed still counts as weight loss.

The cost of medication is not included in the $179 three-month plan, and Sesame warned on its website that without insurance, GLP-1s can cost between $950 and $1,600 per month.

Some people go to Costco for its $1.50 hot dogs, others for its $179 Ozempic prescriptions.

People taking tirzepatide injections lost more weight and were more likely to reach specific weight loss targets than those taking semaglutide, according to a new study.
Makes sense since tir stimulates 2 enzymes(?) and sema only does 1. Oh, here we go:
Tirzepatide and semaglutide both mimic the effects of the gut hormone GLP-1, which stimulates the body’s production of insulin and slows the passage of food through the stomach. GLP-1 also signals the brain to help control appetite. Tirzepatide also stimulates a second gut hormone, called GIP, which may help boost its effects.

Has anyone tried one of these? Pretty sure my SIL is on one of them, but I'm not asking.

I just don't find myself really caring enough to try one.

I considered it, but $1k/month is a shitton. I've had so many injuries and inflammation + pain lately that exercise hasn't been super possible.

But there are apparently compounded versions of these that are between $250 and $400, which is more tempting: https://www.reddit.com/r/tirzepatidecompound/
