With the vote squashing that went on today, I think I'm changing my party to unaffiliated next week. I hoped the Republican party could be reformed into a small government party. They are showing more and more that they can only become that if they are first destroyed.

Senator Jeff Flake, Republican of Arizona, an outspoken critic of Mr. Trump who plans to skip the convention, said more bluntly that the party should be prepared to break with Mr. Trump and the voters who have cheered his pledges to deport millions of undocumented immigrants and ban Muslims from entering the country.

“You’ve got to hope that, if this race keeps going the way it looks to be going, that it’s enough of a jolt to wake people up and say we don’t want to be relegated to second place in every future presidential campaign,” Mr. Flake said.

He suggested a purge of racists from the party that would recall the expulsion of the John Birch Society, a fringe nationalist group, from Republican ranks a half-century ago.

“Those who want a Muslim ban, those who will disparage individuals or groups — yes, we ought to, we need to,” Mr. Flake said.

True, he needs to go to the party where they tell minorities how great they are while holding them under the water.

They didn't just get killed by the media. The RNC did their share as well (See Chris McDaniel in Mississippi). McConnell has a Senate PAC where they raise money saying if you want more conservative voices like Ted Cruz in the senate then donate to their Super PAC, while spending money against every conservative that Ted Cruz endorses in the primary.

I'm done with them.

It has been reported that Alaska did not turn in its required signatures to contribute toward the rules committee roll call vote.
As a rules committee member, I had secured more than enough signatures from Alaska delegates, but the convention secretary was not at the designated location where I was told to submit them.
Some said she was hiding. Others said she was protected by guards. Regardless, I was told I could also present the signatures from the floor.
Nevertheless, when the vote occurred, my mic was not turned on. When I attempted to present these signatures at the stage, my effort was ignored by the chair, and the security guard turned me away.
The effort was made even more difficult by Alaska's late-arriving bus and slow security lines at the entrance.
Overall, this was not a good demonstration of delegate accommodation, nor of full, open, honest debate of the rules as was promised during the rules committee orientation.

People on this board whenever the acronym ACORN is thrown around or whenever voter ID laws get brought up and how the jack-asses are using them to cheat in general elections. I think the biggest concern of the RNC was that the new rules would reward states with closed primaries with more delegates. That might lead to a small government Constitutional candidate. That scares them a lot more than Trump. The grassroots are to only vote as they are told. They shall not try to propose ideas.

Meanwhile, the Democrats are running a brilliant smear campaign making it so every right wing label from Conservative to Republican to Tea Party, etc. are considered bad words and shameful to declare yourself as one. If you're white, you're racist and if you're a minority, you're an Uncle Tom or ignorant. All the while promising people all the free stuff they can use.

Actual conservatives? The Republican machine is fine with Trump. He went in and gave his assurances that if he were to win he'd do nothing to upset their power. So they're more okay with losing with Trump than winning with a small government constitutionalist.

I'm at the point now that I'd rather lose elections with a smaller party of principled politicians than win elections only to have them capitulate on every. single. issue that they were elected on. The way the legislate, even when they win they're killing us and surrendering before they even get to the battlefield.

When the war is over, having lost is acceptable if you've fired all your ammo. We're giving up the battles with full magazines.
